Yep..."they" (the food industry, ad agencies, public school systems, etc) create the monster (the overweight populace), then they (the fashion industry & media & everyone else) tell the monster how disgusting it is. Never made much sense to me.
I know what a bunch of hypocrites! that is called search and destroy I think, or bullying, trying to bring someone down and then ridiculing them for it, I felt this a long time ago, but just didn't know what to do about it. but I also thought there was something wrong with me, that I deserved punishment, so I went on starvation diets, or wouldn't allow myself to be successful, because I was fat.
Well, what do you expect, when you can thumb through a fashion magazine & see a seductive ad for Godiva chocolates or Starbucks or any other "bait & hook" on one page, and right across the page, see a fashion ad with a model that HAS to be under 100 lbs, despite the fact that she is CLEARLY over 5'7" & probably had to take speed or go without food (without the benefit of hCG) or throw her food back up to get to that size. And THAT is what is shaping our mindsets, especially the young women!!!
AAAAGGGGHHH!!! Like I said...don't get me started!!
ok, I won't get you started, but I just had to add, I was just watching the television while on the treadmill, and you are right, first they show a big slloppy fast food combo meal with some kind of seductive promo, next ad is a skinny model showing off makeup and then it goes to yet two more fattening junk food commercials. I am avoiding that too, now. It was sandwiched inbetween some show about celebrity sex scandals.
