I am on my second round and this week have barely lost. I went up two days in a row and then lost 1.4 and then stayed there again today. I am at a higher weight than I was a week ago! I realize it's not a stall per say, but it's a week of little ups and downs that result in no overall movement. I did an apple day once in my 1st round and really didn't like it, but it worked and I continued to lose after that. If you're against apple days... well I don't agree.

Thoughts? Let me know ASAP because I haven't eaten yet, so I could do one today.

    VLCD Day 13: 214.0
    VLCD Day 14: 213.2
    VLCD Day 15: 215.0
    VLCD Day 16: 216.0
VLCD Day 17: N/A (traveling without scale)
    VLCD Day 18: 214.6
    VLCD Day 19: 214.6

If the apple day helped before, I would do it again. I did one last week, lost a lb, and gained it right back.

    VLCD18 187.5
    VLCD19 188.0 gained .5
    VLCD20 188.00 Stall
    VLCD21 187.0
    VLCD22 187.00 Apple Day
    VLCD23 186.00
    VLCD24 187.5 .5 gain (Pickles)
    VLCD25 188.0 - .5 gain
    VLCD26 187.00

I wouldn't do it unless I'd stalled 4 days...I tried one a week or two ago and didn't lose one ounce. I was of the mind of "I'll do this once a week whether I'm stalling or not!" Nope, wasn't effective at all.

I seem to only lose every 3-4 days or so...perhaps you are like me where the scale will not show a loss every day?

Dr S even states that apple days are pure psychologial...your just losing water weight.

I would change up my foods or something before doing an apple day but that's just me.

I feel your pain, I was freaking out yesterday because I have had the same problem, for 4 days now, I have steadily read 226.8 on the scale. I want to just scream because I feel like I am getting no where, but at the same time I have not pooped an ounce since, I have decided to give it one more day, and if the scale does not read anything different tomorrow I just don't know what I'll do. Yesterday when I was on the Forum and asking some of the members who have a little more experience with this than I, they said to make sure your drinking enough water (1/2 of your weight in ounces) and maybe cut out anything with citrus, tomatoes, grapefruit and apples for the day. So thats one I am doing today. I know that its not much help because your really want to get your day started but thats what I am doing today and I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

I've heard that a stall during week 4 is normal...that's where my bad one happened. (only 1 pound the whole week)

Have either of you tried the Smooth Move tea? that helped me.

Plus, I cut out oranges and apples entirely...that also helped.

    Good luck.

LMS... You should try what Amiedanny said..
It is so funny that this diet has not hard or fast rules.. I have never had a bad apple day always at least 1 pound lost usually more and same with protein days.. but it just does not work for others... strange.. it is not pure psychologial for me I lose and it stays off and keeps moving.. oh well we will see what this round brings I am loading today..

ok, maybe I will give it one more day...... just sucks. I never stalled like this on my first round, so I am pretty bummed.

I had a three day stall very early on R1 VLCD4 but I just powered through it, drank a ton of green tea, added cinnamon to my tea and coffee (cinnamon is supposed to help burn fat), used ACV with my veggies and after 3 days at the same weight I dropped 2.5 pounds. I also try to only eat one fruit and often skip the breadsticks. I try to only eat the bread if I am super hungry, which is only every few days. I know it is frustrating but in reading through all the posts, I am obsessed really, that if you if power through the protocol, your loses will catch up with your days!

Keep up the good good! Your loses will come!

have you adjusted yor sodium dear?, Salt is the devil. and can keep the scale from moving or cause strange gains when no chaeting has been involved.. for every extra teaspoon of salt we eat ,our bodies have to keep 2 liters of water in solution. you know how heavy carrying two liters of soda is. so dont over salt your foor or consider reduction of salt intake it will make a difference on the scale.
