I haven't used them because they're not on protocol, but they have zero calories. So they are not counted as either, just used as an extra food on the diet. They are all fiber, no starch. People use them as a pasta substitute. If you buy them, make sure they are the zero calorie ones. Some are made from another type of yam, and do have starch and calories.
Ok so I could make them with 3.5 oz of chick. and tomato "sauce" (tomatoes in a blender with garlic and basil) and I could have that as a meal. It's so weird to me- a noodle that is zero calories- like water. I need to try this.
If I order them from miraclenoodle.com those ones are ok right?
There are a bunch of other threads with recipes, too. Use the search tab at the top of this page. I know some people have said that since they are all fiber, they've had to be careful eating a lot at first, because you're not used to that much fiber on the vlcd.
They also sell the substance as a powder, for thickening soups, etc.
I got mine here, you can get just a few to try them out. They arrived the next day. I like them, i put them in soup. Just rinse them really well and then boil them for a few minutes.
