Regarding the amounts of vegetables and greens you can eat during P2. I've read some eat unlimited amounts, others say 2 cups, max.

Is there a hard or fast rule about this? I feel some days I could eat a little more of my salad or vegetable but I'm afraid to do so.

Don't worry about it! Eat what you want of the allowed veggies. That said, I wouldn't eat an entire head of cabbage in one sitting, but I've been known to eat a plate full! :) They have no fat and very little calories, so as long as your following protocal, it shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you, Superchick! I have been very strict with my food, eating only the protocal foods from Dr. Simeon's manual, and weighing and measuring! I've not cheated and I am on day 10 of the VLCD. I've lost 14.8 lbs and I don't want to mess this up. I feel like this is my last chance to lose weight after years and years of struggles.

Some days I get a little more hungry at meal times than others. I think it's because at my job (I work in a hospital) I often spend a lot of time running back and forth and I'm guessing the exercise is making me a bit more hungry. I had hoped I could have a little extra lettuce or cucumbers, etc on those days. LOL

And how about snacks is it ok to snack on allowed veggies? I know we're not supposed to mix veggies at one meal, but how about say a bowl of cabbage beef soup and then an hour later a cucumber and an hour later some strawberries? Would that be considered "mixing"?

Hey that's a good question, Sasha. I wondered about that myself. Thanks for asking.

Honestly, I do think it would be considered mixing. However, it's been 6 months since my first round, and I've kinda forgotten! I can't say that there weren't a few times I ate a little more veggies than I should have. But I don't remember it ever giving me a problem. I'd stick with veggies for snacking, if you think you really have to have them. You need to make sure you only have 2 servings of fruit a day. And you can space out your allowed foods over the course of the day. there were many days I ate my protein for lunch and then the veggie for a snack. Or 1/2 my lunch at 12:00 and 1/2 of it at 3:00 or so, just to get me by.

Superchick, I've been trying to do that too, spacing out meals I mean. Sometimes I think I want to snack for no reason other than I have 'mouth hunger' if that makes any sense.

Also, the nurses are constantly eating and I have to be really strong to NOT want to dip into the junk they have lying around, so I thought if I could have a few extra cucumber slices or whatever veggies I'm eating that day, I could be saved from myself. :)

So basically we just pick a lunch veggie and a dinner veggie for the day, but we don't necessarily have to eat them at those times?
This is kind of off-topic, but can we have butter-flavored sprinkles? Or butter-flavored salt? I think it would be yummy on some greens.

I eat all the celery and cucumbers I want, which still isn't much because I'm never that hungry, but neither have ever affected my losses. Now onions and tomatoes together, killed my losses for a week.

VLCD27 lost 23.5 lbs, and that's with a week stall.

I would personally try to stay away from salt where ever possible.
