I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice. And I know I'll probably get crucified for this one.

I'll be vacationing in Chicago Friday night through Monday afternoon and have been wondering what I would do to accommodate this diet while there. We will be staying with a friend who lives there and I have been planning all along on packing a cooler with my food and HCG for the weekend. But we all know that a big part of going on vacation is eating. Chicago has some great restaurants and I told my hubby that we could stop and eat anyplace and anytime he wants to. I was just planning on eating my meals beforehand. I don't see it being a problem because I have had no hunger issues this whole first week of Phase2. I even hosted a huge barbeque on Father's day and was comfotable being around all the yummy grub.

Then I realized I will have to make my friend and husband run back to her house for all my meals just so I can make my food. I feel so guilty thinking about having to make our plans around my mealtimes. I don't want the diet to hinder the things we do and see. Soooo I was thinking, what if I stop injections on Wednesday, continue doing the vlcd on Thursday and Friday and then resume injections on Saturday? I plan to stick to the diet restrictions as much as possible so I can at least go to the restaurant with everybody and order food with special instructions (Grilled chicken with no oils).Obviously I can't be sure on the weight of the food. I imagine I can still order the foods we're allowed on Phase 2 but I am worried about not knowing exactly what they're being cooked with and not having weighed out all the meat. So I figured if I skip the injections for a couple days I might not have any weight gain if I at least stick to the Phase 2 list of foods. And yes, I realize no weight loss as well.

    Thoughts?

I just came back from a 4-day vacay with food eaters, and decided to hang tough. Believe it or not, I grilled my chicken beforehand, brought celery for my veggies so I could nibble, apples and my breadsticks. It worked out fine. I just kept thinking of the weight loss I was going to see when I got on the scale when I got home! I just kept my food in my purse and ate unobtrusively. The car was AC'd, and all the buildings we were in, too.

It's not my suffering that I'm worried about. Like I said, I haven't had any feelings of hunger. I just worry that if my husband want's to spend a whole day of sightseeing, is trekking back to get my food going to hinder our vacation. You know how it is when you travel...you leave in the morning and don't come back till night. And she doesn't live right downtown. She's in Wrigleyville. So I'm thinking I need to carry my food around in a cooler all day while we are in a museum or shopping?

It's more of a convenience concern than suffering. I love the food we eat on this diet! Veal, grilled asparagus and fresh strawberries...yum
Any ideas on how to sight-see without having to go back twice a day? Or on how to bring my food around town with me?

I precooked all mine. The chicken was the only thing that would have been sketchy, but it was totally fine in a ziplock in my purse all day. I wouldn't have left it to sit in the hot car, but while I was going around, it was fine. . . I cooked everything the morning before I left.

    great, that may just work

And to clarify, I was thinking to stay on the vlcd the days after skipping the injections and order grilled chicken or whitefish, order a salad and put my own dressing on it, eyeball the portion sizes. I want to stick to the diet, I'm not looking to cheat. I'm just super paranoid about weight gain so I thought maybe skipping some injections to get the HCG out of my system but staying on the vlcd would help make the vacation easier and put my mind at ease. I Just was thinking to be able to eat my meals at a restaurant instead of back at my friends place. Eating out of my purse might be the answer. Now to go dig out my big purse!

Thanks for the words of encouragement K and Kimkimkim! You're right, we are all meant to be hot!!!

Apples!!! I traveled alot during my P2 and it was rough. I like the granny smith apples so I bought a lot and kept a couple in my purse at all times. I figured if I was going to be weak at least it would be with an apple and not donuts!! How bad can 2 extra apples hurt?? In the end it worked out perfectly!Mostly lost a pound every night, which was fine with me. Funny thing is... this thing really helps turn your thinking around. I forced myself to focus on the losing weight and fitting into my clothes instead of all the food I couldnt have. It worked!

ooo, I love apples too! Sometimes I get sad that I can't have more than one a day, haha. Isn't there an apple day on the protocol? Maybe I can do that on the day we are out on town the most? How many apples can I have on an apple day?
