Original P+I protocol goes like this: during menstruation, doses are skipped, the diet is maintained, and this "causes no hardship". I.... dunno. I have taken my doses while on my period (which, by the way, came a full week earlier and does NOT seem to want to go away) and I am mostly ok with the hunger thing, as normal. But I am in no way convinced that I should just STOP taking my doses while I'm bleeding. This makes no sense to me. Can anyone explain the how/why its necessary?

(I am on the real HCG, btw, sublingual)

I really do not want to skip my shots during TOM - any advise? feedback?

Many women have had success in not skipping. It's really a personal preference. Someone mentioned that Dr. Simeon's supposedly thought that we made hCG during our periods, but I've never read anything official to document that. I truly believe the reason was that we lose iron during that time, so I have wondered if perhaps upping the protein and maybe taking extra iron in the form of spinach or a supplement would take care of that issue?
