I was wondering what you guys got out there for coffee drink recipes.

I love iced mochas and such, looking for something P2 friendly I can make!

    Thanks!

I make a mocha that is really good (IMO) and you won't even miss the milk. I drink this in P2 (in P3, I have cream in my coffee). I should probably mention that the use of cocoa would be considered rogue, so for those of you staying strictly on protocol, you may not wish to try this.

I use a french press and fresh ground beans because I think the flavor is better.

    My recipe:
4 scoops fresh ground Italian roast beans
    1 tbsp Hershey's cocoa
    sweetener to taste

-- Heat 24 ounces water to just before the boiling point (about 8 minutes in microwave). If it boils, wait 10 seconds for water to cool... little trick from coffee-snob blog I read.
--While water is heating, put coffee, cocoa & sweetener in french press.
--Carefully pour hot water over coffee mixture and let brew for 4 minutes or so. Longer if you want stronger coffee. (Give a little stir before inserting the press.)
-- Let cool and transfer coffee into pitcher with ice cubes.
-- Pour into tall glass and enjoy!

I tried making this with Hershey's "Special Dark" cocoa and it wasn't as good... too bitter for my taste. Anyway, hope you enjoy it if you decide to try it. :)

You are not supposed to have chocolate are you?

I don't think the flavored Stevia products hurt anything. Or they never did me.

    Great suggestions guys. Thanks.

I ordered some stevia to make these coffee drinks. I read they are way sweeter than normal sugar.

Is this stuff like a one or two drop deal?

I used more than a drop or two, but found that if you use too much, the more bitter it tastes. (But, you make due with what you can use).

I made iced coffee drinks every day in P2 after work. Coffee, ice, 1 Tbls protein powder (to make it "creamy"), stevia and blend it up.

The stevia flavor drops, in my opinion, only give it a tiny hint of flavor, but I've only tried vanilla and chocolate. I bet that toffee one would be good.

I did order some flavor drops from Capella. I've never had them before, but somone on this site mentioned them and I'll try them for my next round in coffee drinks. They don't add sweetness, only flavor. Hope they arrive today!

wow, the capella drops are much cheaper than I pay for the stevia drops at my health food store. I pay $13, and these are $6

But remember....they don't add sweetness...only flavor. However, a friend of mine gave me a little cannister of the Jay Robb stevia (to add to their protein shakes) so I would use plain stevia and then what ever flavor of drops. I just want to try them because I would think they give much more flavor than the flavored stevia drops, w/o adding bitterness. I can't wait to try. I ordered the deal with the mini's...buy 5 get 1 free. Yeah, they are small but it's a good opportunity to try a few flavors. I plan to use them in P3 in my hcg friendly mini cheesecake muffins and my yogurt, but in P2 in coffee drinks and with vanilla protein shakes.

    :)

This is a recipe I used before this diet and I plan to use it during it. However it should be noted cocoa powder is not on protocal and if you choose to use it it is considered rouge. Now for the recipe. 1 heaping tsp instant coffee 1 heaping tsp cocoa powder 1/3c hot water ice stevia of your choice to taste, I am using chocolate. put cocoa powder and coffee in water and whisk with fork until disolved Add to ice in blend and blend until smooth add stevia to desired sweetness and poor into glass. Enjoy
