Hi, I'm Orthodox Jewish. I'm finding that this diet can be a real challenge when you have to keep kosher! Eating at other people's homes on Shabbos can be tricky, too. (I pack my own bento lunch, and explain that I'm on a health diet.)

I'm just going into P3, and it seems like all people can talk about is eating meat and cheese together and having lots of shrimp and pork, LOL! Not putting anyone down if they do, just sayin' that I can't. :-)

So, who's got some inspiring recipes or advice?

    Toda rabbbah!

    Hi,

I am not jewish so I can't help you w/kosher vs non-kosher BUT I am vegetarian and will not eat any meat. Cheese doesn't work too well for me either so I rely heavily on protein powders. Some that I use are Sun Warrior, Hemp pro 70, boku super protein, raw protein from Garden of Life. Granted these aren't the greatest tasting things in the world but when you're in P2 you can throw an apple in the blender w/a little cinnamon and protein powder and water and it isn't half bad! Not sure if these protein powders are an option for you but if they are they work wonders!

Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you!

Hi, nothing like making this even harder, huh?? ;-)

I'm sorry, I am not Jewish, either and not too familiar with the requirements for eating kosher, but I have done P3 and I don't eat shrimp, or not much anyway. (and I have read the old testament and understand some of the food law God set down)

So, you CAN eat meat and cheese just separate. How about cheese and broccoli?

You can enjoy great beef and use nice oils to cook in. Fish, too if you like it (not a seafood person; it doesn't like me)

Remember all fruits and veggies are now fair game except the obvious starchy ones. I loved great salads with cheese and all kinds of mixed veggies and all kinds of fruit, too. I don't limit myself on fruit but it's also not something I really over eat naturally. Yogurt has become a great treat of mine (whipped in the blender with strawberries; yum). Once you start clearing nuts, there is that whole avenue to explore.

You can always try a cauliflower pizza with only cheese and veggies as toppings. (can you mix eggs and cheese??)

I think you will find a lot on P3 to be happy about and work with. I'm sure you are good at working around the restrictions you have to deal with. I loved P3.

Shalom, Yocheved! I, also, am not Jewish, but I do Torah studies through a local Messianic congregation & have a deep & abiding love for Israel ("I will bless those who bless you; I will curse those who curse you"...right?).

I agree with Minnie, in that, while you can't eat the meat & cheese together, there is no reason why you should not be able to eat them separately, throughout the day...You'll just have to be a bit more strategic & creative. One nice thing is that you will now, in p3 have the leverage of adding in cooking fats you weren't able to before, such as sautee'ing your veggies in coconut oil or olive oil, etc...So,there's something to look forward to. I'd also add lots of good, delicious Omega 3 fish, if you like it, like salmon (mmm...made my mouth water there! LOL) & tuna! I think you would benefit from a lot of the p3 sweets recipes, as well. You might do a search for them, using the search bar above.

Yes, being appropriately gracious in someone else's home, on Shabbos, is an unavoidable situation. Thankfully, I would imagine that would get a WHOLE lot easier, in P3. You can even have the wine!! Just STAY AWAY FROM THE CHALLAH (for now)...LOL.

    Baruch Hashem!

BTW...I'll try to look into some recipes that would be appropriate, if you'd like.
