Ack! You did spook me! :) I will be careful; so should I not "jab" it in quickly, but go slower than what I had planned on doing? I would hate for one to break off inside me!
They are sharp enough, you should be able to put the tip up against your skin & push firmly & the needle should slide right in. No jab necessary. Really, don't panic...I'm probably being melodramatic. They just feel really flimsy to me. Surely they have to pass some kind of quality control. Diabetics use them every day...often several times a day.
Angela - my Exel "comfort point"!!! (LOL) syringes are Lot Number 091222 with Exp. Date of 141117. I have my hcg all mixed and I'm ready to go tomorrow morning.
i say go to walmart and get your own insulin syringes. they are about $14 for a box of 100. just ask for insulin syringes at the pharmacy. i tried walgreens- they wouldn't sell me any without a prescription. but walmart did- no questions asked. also bought alcohol pads there.
Aww, crap! I'm sorry, NuttyBlonde. My weekend was hellacious (if you have time for a long read, explaining it, read my "My Weekend" thread). I went off, this morning, & forgot to get the lot number. Honestly, though, I wouldn't worry about it. The problem actually seems to vary from syringe to syringe...not bag to bag. Either it is because I am being EXCEPTIONALLY careful with them, now, or I just got a few bad ones, but, as long as I'm really careful with them, the ones I've used the last couple of shots held up okay.
I think I'd be scared to go up to the Walmart pharmacy, without a prescription, & ask for a box, but, if I get desperate, I may try that. If not, I'll just order them from a different company. Thanks for the tip, redsun. Angela
borntobethin...where do you order from India? I have a bunch of people I have been talking to and said I would help them with everything. Getting it bulk would be great, I have one more round to do also. Is it cheaper than all day chemist? Thanks, Lisa
Angela, I tried an Exel syringe this morning and it was fine. It's 1g smaller in size than the Monoject syringe, I didn't notice any bending and it went in just fine, no pain at all. :)
Maybe I was just being way too rough on my syringes...LOL. I haven't had an issue since, but I'm being extra careful, just in case. Yeah, I finally noticed that (that the Exel's are a smaller gauge than the Monojects). Angela
