Hi guys, I've learned so much from this website...My question is this, is massage outlawed because of the oils that are used on the skin? My husband is very famous for rubbing my shoulders and neck because I frequently have headaches...I don't want to give this up, we use no lotions, no oils, just his hands to my skin...Will this hurt?
some people think that it's a stress to the tissues during P2- personally, i think you'll be fine. just know that your body is a bit more sensitive than normal, so have him take it easy.
My understanding is that it is the OILS that are banned. My hubby continues to massage my shoulders & back I am on VLCD39 with an average daily loss of 0.7434 so I don't think it's affecting my losses.
Thank you sooooo much, I was hoping it was the oils that prohibited it....I've come to enjoy the end of the day relaxation even if I don't have a headache!!! Lol...
the oils are definitely a no-no. but Dr. S. also prohibits it because of his statement that massage therapists can not resist the urge to try to manipulate and break up the fat, which is hard on the tissues. Back in the 60's it was a theory- remember those jiggling belts women used to use? i think therapeutic massage as it's done today is fine.
