Crap! Oh well, at least my gyn will be happy to hear I was on time, like clockwork, this month. Maybe he won't have to put me back on Provera, in September! I was dreading that, because I'll most likely be in P3, by then, & I can do without the weight gain it can sometimes cause.
I apologize, in advance, if I express a bad attitude over TOM, this week. Ever since my reproductive days became a thing of the past, I have resented TOM more than ever. I tolerated it, in my youth, because I knew it was necessary for fertility, but, now, it's just a (seemingly unimportant) pain.
(praying for no stalls or gains, over the next few days) Angela
You need to read "The Miracle of Bio-Identical Hormones" by Michael Platt, M.D. He clearly explains why most TOM issues are due to hormone imbalances, why Provera is bad, and why bio-identicals, like progesterone, are better and safer. For one thing, you no longer get the weight gain and in fact can lose weight more easily. He also explains why Suzanne Somer's attempting to push women to take more estrogen is totally wrong and very dangerous.
I don't intend to STAY on Provera...Wait...let me back up...I don't intend to BE on Provera, period. That was my DOCTOR'S suggestion, after my last TOM came nearly 2 mths late & was hell on wheels (my darn fibroids). At the time, I said, "Sure, sure..." just to pacify him, but I figured, when my followup comes in September, if I was still having issues, I'd refuse the Provera then. He only puts me on it long enough to induce a TOM, regulate me, then I get off of it...about 6-8 wks at most. If he had done endometrial ablation, like I first requested, I wouldn't have to keep dealing with it.
However, having said that, I am 99.9999999999% convinced that the bulk of my hormonal problems are weight related, anyway, since fat stores excess phytoestrogens that can totally screw up things. I am also 99.9999999999% sure that, once I get some of this weight off, I will regress out of my current peri-menopausal state. The hot flashes are already gone & the fact that I started TOM right on schedule, on protocol, is a promising sign.
Thank you for the suggestion, markie. I will ck it out, but I sincerely believe the answer to the majority of my problems, from A to Z, lies in getting my weight closer to appropriate. Any temporary treatment or fix (like the Provera), in the meantime, is just that...temporary. Angela
