Just needed a place to put down my thoughts. It's been a rough day today. I'm on VLCD9 and this is my second round. Perhaps my mood/feelings are because I took my drops 4 hours late last night, or that I didn't get much sleep. I've been hungry and cranky all day. I want to eat EVERYTHING today that I can't!! Ugh...Plus, this day just had to fall on a big cooking day for me. I made 2 qt. of Homemade Spaghetti Sauce as well as a Ham and Cheese Mashed Potato Casserole and cut up the watermelon that the rest of my family gets to eat for dinner! I did due a "splurge" today though and I hope I don't regret it since today I dropped to 199.2 and out of the 200's!
What was my splurge? Well, after researching GI lists for fruit and such, I decided to enjoy an organic Plum for my 1 daily fruit. Yummmmmmmy. So nice to have a different flavor/texture in my mouth. I almost felt "normal" for the 2 min it took to eat it, except I dealt the whole time with the guilt of eating off protocol on Day 9!! We'll have to see how it affects me.
I found some Buffalo Meat Brats at the grocery store last night that seem to be completely P2 safe. Just ground Buffalo and seasonings with NO sugar! So, going to have that for dinner along with another dry salad. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a better day.
Oh I feel for you - I did a reception today up at Church for a funeral. The family wanted coffee & cookies. So I made the coffee then set all the cookies out on platters. Plus cream puffs drizzled with chocolate syrup. It was all so wildly bad for me that I knew I wasn't going to eat any of it, but it smelled sooooo good. People kept saying how good the cookies were. And alot of the people eating way too many cookies had no business doing so and that made me feel a bit better. That sounds snotty. I just meant I was glad I'm doing this and not eating cookies. But was a little hard setting them all like that!!!
On my second round I ate 2 plums as my ine fruit on many occasions. One of my diet listings had them on it and I was okay so don't worry, I think you splurge will not hurt you.
I actually made mango salsa and put it on my tilapia and lettuce salad. It counted as my fruit and was sooo good. I even lost weight on it. I mixed chopped up mango, chopped cilantro, a little chopped onion, lime juice, salt, and white pepper. Yummy! I only ate about 1/4 of the mango since it was large one. My husband ate the rest and still lost weight.
