Hi Everyone, Im new to this forum. When I started on the 27th of June I was always logging in here to find info, you are all so great and helpful : ) Well let me tell you a little about my experience so far. My starting weight was 176.7 and today day 13 on the 500 Calorie diet im at 164.2. My goal weight is 130-135. Im doing a 40 day 500cal session. Im using sublingual from Healthyourself. Everything was working great until i got my TOM and it lasted 11 days, i was still losing but very little about 0.5-03 pounds a day. Today its competely gone but i didnt loose anything. I blame it on a jay robb shake i took yesterday at lunch but who knows. My typical day is as follows: Breakfast: Coffee black Snack: Apple Lunch: 1 Egg White and 1 whole boiled egg & Cucumbers Dinner: Protein Shake by EAS with strawberries lots of water and some mineral water
I know some slowness was because of my TOM but I really want to hope and be at least 150 by day 40. The EAS shake works for me but Jay Robb doesnt since i didnt lose anything this morning. MIght try one more not sure. I see everyone losing so much i get discouraged or am i doing something wrong. I sometimes eat chicken instead orf the eggs. Or 100 grams of cottage cheese. I really dont like steak... When is a good time for a steak day and how much do i need to eat...im not sure how it works but i want to try it. is there any other replacement for steak day? is carne asada allowed for steak day? I Love that this is the only diet that has worked for me nutrisystem never worked for me and was so pricey.
You have a very high average! Over 12 pounds in 13 days. That's fabulous! It's time for you to hit a stall though. It's normal and to be expected. I doubt it has anything to do with the shake but it's hard to say since shakes aren't on the protocol. It's possible you are sensitive to milk or egg that most of them are made with. Are you a vegetarian since you don't seem to have meat on your menu on a typical day?
No im not a vegetarian, i just never liked red meat that much but i do like carne asada : ) thats why i was hoping that could count for steak day. Grammy so you think for day 17 im doing good? that makes me feel better i thought i was slow. The reason why i do 1 meal and the shake at dinner is because i put extra water and ice so i feel fuller. Im so picky i get tired of chicken soon so i have noticed i can tolerate eggs better (hard boiled with salt and lemon ). Any tips on what i can put on chicken to make it tasty? (i miss mayo for chicken salad) . Do you reccomend a steak day?
You are doing GREAT, honey! Just great! :-) Just hold steady and remember when you hit these stalls that your body is losing fat as it's adding back some of the water you lost in your first week. The inches will drop as proof!
I've started dipping my chicken in mustard. I wish I'd discovered this on my previous four rounds! A steak day is only for P3, not for when you are actually dieting. Just hold the course. There is nothing to fear! :-) Colleen
Mustard sounds good i usually add hot sauce with no sugar or fat, but i love mustard so i will try it that way. I know the protocol says 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg. I can never do all those the most i do is 2 egg whites and 1 whole... i get soo full with that and the melba toast. Grammy how much have you lost on those 4 rounds? do i have to wait some time after the 40 day VLCD and phase 3 to start again on another round? Thanks
I've lost 65 pounds so far. My 4th round was a bit of a bust though. I struggled with the right dose and then spent 8 days in the middle of it with a friend at the cancer hospital where I couldn't follow protocol exactly. I'm doing a 5th round now. You need to wait 6 weeks between rounds 1 & 2. 8 weeks between 3 & 4. The weight times keep going up. Colleen
65 pounds Congrats!!! thats a motivator to anyone starting this diet. I will keep an update to see if i lose tomorrow since i have been at 164.2 for 2 days :-(
If you want to eat beef for variety, you can try very lean ground beef, made into a burger. I used Laura's 96% fat free Ground Sirloin. You need to buy beef that is that lean. Dill pickles are also allowed as a veggie (make sure no sugar or corn syrup), and they go great on top of the burger.
I noticed that you're only eating one serving of veggie. You need to eat that second one, too - they have fiber and keep you regular.
Your losses are good. Most women lose .5 to .75 lbs per day over the long run. So keep at it, the weight will come off!
My scale get giving me different results.. it was 164.2 at first then 164.0 so im not sure which is correct.
I used to be excited to weigh myself every morning and see losses but since i stoped loosing i just get mad every morning to see the same number..... can i do an apple day in phase 2 day 18? Thanks
To do an apple day you have to have 4 days of a stall. And then you often regain the weight the day after. It's water weight only. Just remember you are losing fat but your body is putting back some of the water it lost the first week. All that weight was NOT fat coming off.
