i am new and on R1P2VLCD3 and I found this recipe Chopped romaine lettuce Celery, chopped 1 Chopped green onion Emeril's Wing Sauce Walden Farms Bleu Cheese Dressing 100g chicken, marinated in the wing sauce for an hour
i just was wondering if this was protocol safe, I didn't think you could mix vegetables and was unsure about the sauce. I have found a lot of recipes but am unsure if they are safe, wouldn't want to jeopardize myself unknowingly.
I don't mix veggies. And I don't know what is in the sauce. Walden Farm stuff is loaded with chemicals too. It's not a recipe I would try but some might do okay with it.
grammy, I'm back. Survived the 5 days with my docs. "squirrly diet" (including oatmeal), without gaining a pound. Went back on the shots Monday am. Started my VLCD today. Wish me luck. Lordy, I hope that scale likes me again.
The wing sauce would be a no-no, unless it has zero calories and no sugar, fructose, etc., which I doubt. Check the ingredients. You can find plain hot-sauce though (like Tobasco) that some people use for seasoning, as well as Braggs liquid aminos, which tastes like soy sauce. Walden products contain Splenda (listed as sucralose), which some people are against as it isn't specifically mentioned in the protocol. Others use Splenda and do fine, it's up to you whether you want to try it or not.
As far as mixing vegetables, it's not allowed in the original Simeon's protocol, he calls for one vegetable only per meal. However, some people do mix vegetables (I did in my second round) and see no difference.
Since this is your first round, it's best to stick to the specific items as outlined in P&I so you can't say it doesn't work if you deviate from it. However, it's ultimately up to you to decide.
