I have read that a lot of you are taking magnesium and potassium. Any specific brands/amounts? Is this in addition to a multi-vitamin? Any other supplements? If I drink a liter of Smart-water a day do I still need m&p?
I don't think Smart Water has enough potassium or minerals in it to not take additional by mouth.... Most of things I have read indicate taking 2-3 potassium a day (99 mg.) I get a store brand from Whole Foods, very inexpensive. The reason you need potassium is you urinate excessively on P2 - between drinking what you need (water/green tea/yerba mate tea/lemonade <made from your one lemon a day, plus water and stevia>) and the fairly high protein (for the amount of food consumed.)
Magnesium is a great aid for your bowels, among other things. The most bioavailable magnesium is magnesium citrate. I am using GNC's 500 mg. magnesium, but am also taking Peter Gillham's CALM pretty much daily, which is a raspberry/lemon flavored powder (contains no sugar, unless you choose to add some stevia) you mix with water to aid in calming nerves, improve energy, anxiety, etc. as well as bowel funtion. (This can be a volatile mixture - just put in a tall glass, add 2-3 ounces warm/hot water, stir and let dissolve (it will foam up to nearly fill the glass, temporarily, nad then dies down;) then add more hot or cold water to drink. <Someone on here told a hilarious story of putting it in a shaker bottle and it blew up all over everything!>)
You also need some minerals to keep electrolytes in balance. A good one is Emergen-C Lite (available at Whole Foods and probably GNC) and comes in individual packets. I bought a box of 30 packets for maybe $10 at Whole Foods. You can add stevia to this as well to make it more palatable. Or you can take a multi mineral capsule or liquid.
Most recommend drinking Yerba Mate tea and this also available at Whole Foods. It is supposed to help metabolize and flush fat, supresses appetite, helps uplift mood and energy levels and also has minerals and vitamins. Knowing that, I bought a bag of 75 tea bags of it at Whole Foods. I also add lemon juice and stevia to this and keep some in fridge for when I need something to drink. You can also drink it hot.
Adding another - this may be too long already! Adding another - this may be too long already!
You should be taking some Vitamin B12 - it's good for almost everything! Liquid B12 came with my HCG as part of the package I bought. Not sure if you can find the liquid, but guessing it's available.
Braggs Liquid Aminos are a soy-based flaoring that is available at Whole Foods or GNC - probably more. Some people marinate, cook with, season with, stir fry, veggies, add to Braggs RAW Apple Cider Vinegar (with "the mother) for salad dressing, etc. Some people swear by Liquid Aminos, others stall with it. It does have sodium, but also no calories or carbs. If you can stand vinegar, do get some Bragg's! It is the best one for you and works well for dressing salad, but probably dilute a little with lemon/water and stevia so as not to hurt the enamel on your teeth. Some people swear by the ACV cocktail - 1 to 2 tsp. in a 8-10 oz glass of water with stevia, drank one to two times a day. Some swear it breaks a stall. It is like everything else....works for some, not for others.
For your salt selection, try to use Celtic or Himalayan Sea Salt - better than Morton's or some regular brand which is refined, and may contain sugar. Celtic or Himalayan Sea Salt still has the minerals in it. It is not processed to complete stark white - you will see some small flecks of color, which shows the minerals are unprocessed and intact.
