Ok, I'm trying hard to not stress about this and chalk this up to another failed attempt at losing weight.
As a little bit of background I am still nursing my 17 month old a couple of times a day. My milk supply is, and has been, just fine throughout all of this. It was not an easy decision for me to do this while I nursed, but I decided to try it because my weight had really gotten to be a problem and it was affecting my daily life. I have always been backwards in that I lose weight while I am pregnant (I've gained between 3 and 9 pounds with each of my four pregnancies, which was what the baby weighed or less) and then I gain quickly while I am nursing. Just to give you an idea, my third baby was sensitive to SO much and I ended up down to a diet of mostly chicken and salad, with an occasional sweet potato, and I still gained weight quickly (at least a pound a week). I tried again last summer to lose a few pounds doing low carb and exersizing 6 days a week and, after a few weeks of losing a pound or 2 a week, I started gaining two to 2.5 pounds a week. I was actually gaining faster than I did while not dieting and exercising. So, I stopped and tried to just be a bit more moderate. And that takes me, a year later, to where I started this.
So, with that said, I was hopeful that this would answer those issues and allow me to lose some of the weight and keep it off. P2 went pretty well. I got good results, never felt hunger, etc. Then comes to P3. I started P3 about 1/2 pound below my last drop weight. The first day I added cream and salad dressing. That seemed fine, so over the next few days I added a bit more different types of dairy (feta and cheddar cheese and sour cream). My weight went up some, but I still stayed within my window. On Saturday and Sunday I tried eggs and also some cocoa crack. Monday morning I was up to 3 pounds over my LDW. So, Monday was a steak day. I had a couple of cups of coffee with cream, hamburger patties, and an apple that day. Tuesday morning I woke up, went into the bathroom and passed out. I woke up face down on the bathroom mat. Ok, no more steak days for me. So, Tuesday I cut the eggs and cocoa crack out and had mostly meat and salad with cheese and sour cream. Wednesday morning, back up to 2 over. Since I'm not doing steak days any more I made yesterday a high protein day. I had a cup of coffee with heavy cream and a hamburger patty for breakfast. Lunch was a piece of chicken. Snack was a bit of london broil with salt and garlic on it (no marinade or anything). Dinner was some chicken and a small (about 1 cup) side salad with a dressing of grainy mustard with a little olive oil in it. This morning I didn't lose an ounce. Still 2 pounds over my LDW.
So, this morning I've cut out the coffee with cream in case the dairy is affecting me, but I don't know what else to do. I don't want to do another high protein day because I really want some veggies, but I'm afraid this will show another gain tomorrow. I'm so discouraged right now and I feel like I've failed at losing weight yet again and the last month and a half of this was for nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can try? We're supposed to go camping tomorrow and my plan is just to stick with meat and veggies, no dairy, eggs, nuts, etc, but I will have no way of monitoring my weight while out there. I'm just at a loss right now and this is just consuming way more of my thoughts and time than it should. TIA!

Yes this diet does have a way of becoming an obsession. If I were you I would stick to meats and veggies for a few days, go camping and enjoy yourself try not to obsess over your weight (I know....easier said than done) just eat meat and veggies, I know it sounds boreing but in time you will be able to eat all that other stuff. You're still early into p3 and our bodies are very sensitive when we come off of p2 especially if we are close to goal. I bet when you come home from camping you will be right on track as long as you stick with protien and veggies. Then when you get back from camping you can try adding some things slowly. By the way....Cocoa crack is murder on my weight or at least it was in the beginning of p3, I stopped eating it and haven't tried to add it back in. I don't know how I would be with it now but it was not good in the beginning for sure.

Also.....is there any way you could have lost some abnormal fat and your body is trying to get it back?

    Tam-
I am still 10-15 pounds away from my goal (which is 115 and I am 4'11", medium frame, so a good 20 pounds over the low end of my weight range). I had no hunger throughout the round, so I really doubt that I could have lost any normal fat. I've been hungrier the last few days on P3 than I ever was on P2!!
My only concern was that I had protein and a small bit of veggies yesterday and didn't lose anything. If I add more veggies and gain then I'm that much further over my LDW. I'm not sure what I can even do to get back down into my range at this point. I can't see going for very long on meat and a cup of salad a day, you know?

I would say it was the eggs that got you. Colleen has mentioned before that sometimes she doesn't see the results of a protien day until the next day after. After reading that I realized that I also have experienced that. This could be the same for you. I am no expert but I would stick to meat and veggies today and see what tomorrow brings. Try not to stress out to much, stress only adds to the problem.

you're never going to gain adding more veggies. but it think both dairy and eggs are a problem. i'd stick to meat and veggies for now.

(and passing out tues morning would not be related to your steak day, since you had eaten a lot monday night.)

Mgsondance, why did you think I did, then? It certainly felt like low blood sugar to me, and I didn't improve until I had eaten.

Maybe the no cream will help. It did me. But also nursing you need more calories and protein than most people on p3, from what I remember about breastfeeding.

When you said that you lived on chicken and salad, what kind of dressing where you eating? Was there dairy or eggs in the ingredients?

Turtle, it's dressing I make myself. It's like the Annie's Goddess dressing, and there's no dairy or eggs.

So, I gained a few ounces today. Yesterday I had a cup of tea and a small hamburger patty for breakfast, and chicken with lettuce and a dressing of grainy (no sugar) mustard and a small amount of olive oil. Lots of water (100 oz). Anyone have any ideas for me?

Someone was saying on here the other day that they were allergic to red meat. So you may try isolating the meats you eat. Like no red meat for the 3 days? Just a thought. I really don't know, sorry, just brainstorming. I'm sorry your having these issues.
