ccmom, hi! I remember you from your first round (also mine) I am sorry that you have had such terrible hormone level problems. HCG is a hormone and it will affect all the other hormone levels. Hormones are stored in our body fat, and as we lose fat, more hormone is circulating in the blood. Also, adding in the healthy fats will boost natural hormone production. Hope things will all fall back in to line for you soon! And as much as I loves my cheese, butter and cream, dairy is really only good for baby bovine!
I have hypothyroidism too and have been on medication for last seven years. Somehow, after reading P&I I decided to drop the medicines when I started my first round last year in November. I got my blood work done to establish a base line. I am a very slow loser and my average loss comes to about .3 lbs a day. I have lost 55 pounds and am on my fourth round. I have got my test done today and will get the reports after five hours. I will post my results. I do not feel any symptoms of hypothyroidism now though.
I take LEVOTHYROXINE 0.088MG (88MCG) TAB for my thyroid. I'm embarassed to say I know very little about it and just do what my doctor tells me. (I feel like I should be more in control like wastinaway!!) I also take medication for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides. My blood pressure medication is combined with a water pill (LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20/25 MG TABLETS) which I know shouldn't be taken on P2. I think i should contact my doctor to have them change my blood pressure pill. I'm just afraid they're going to try and talk me out of using the hCG protocol all together! And I've been reading on here for 3 or 4 days how wonderful this protocol is and how it's working for everyone!! I already know this forum is what's going to keep me going! I'm a big fan of PMA books and CDs and they keep me encouraged when my 9-5 gets me down. So I know this is probably going to be my replacement for "grazing" when I'm bored!
This is my First Day!! Preload wt: 229.5. I'm 58 years old and tired of being in this shape!! My husband and my daughter are both starting this today with me - we all need to lose 50+ lbs each - so I know this is going to work since we're all on the same page!
I apologize for the lenght - sometimes I get on a role - but I do feel I'm among friends!!
Archie:: congtrats on your thyroid!! I stayed on my meds and my thyroid is still hypo so i can't imagine what would have happened had I not taken them. And I have all the symptoms to go with it ... Hair loss the biggie right now!!
So yes get your thyroid checked. I am still awaiting results of my hormone tests And food intolerance testing. I decided to do the Alcat test so I could know for sure!
