Just wanted to update all of you who are doing this diet with thyroid problems..

I did 2 rounds of Hcg.. my first round in Feb lasting 45 days.. ugh.. I lost slowwwer than average 20lbs.
I stabilized well and started R2 5 weeks later... My losses were even slowwwwer I only lost net 7lbs (30 day round) from LIW from R2
I am now in p3 R2 and gaining all those 7lbs back.. I am 3lbs below LIW from R1...

Moral of my "post" get your thyroid and your hormones checked after HCG!!! My thyroid is way off, hypo.. again! My doctor, regular doctor, that I did not do the diet thru, although they do it at the office for $650.. anyway says they always recheck thyroid after hcg and hormones because the hcg really affects our levels and they check it on everyone!!

Aha... this is why my hair is falling out... by the buckets it seems!!

Also, my doctor who is also into hormones, healthy aging etc... says dairy is not good for those of us with thyroid issues, she advised me to cut all dairy and see if the weight comes back off. I also have fibromyalgia, and since starting P3, adding back dairy, my symptoms are very bad.. had no symptoms during P2.. Dr. says it's the dairy!!! Sigh now cause I am a cheeseaholic, love cream in my coffee, love whipping cream, eat greek yogurt... boo hoo.. but if it means I will feel good I can do it, I can!

I had the Alcat test done today, testing for food intolerances.. so I will know for sure and have it in black and white and can look at it, post on my fridge.. In RED don't eat this food it's making you toxic!!!

So I have lost 20lbs total as of today my BMI is normal "good" the Dr. actually said!!
I am stabilizing and am hoping by eliminating foods that are toxic to me I will lose the rest!!

Get your thyroid levels checked after each round of HCG and miss what I experienced, a waisted round!!

BTW... I could not have them checked because I was waiting on health insurance!
    Thankful People: alykay

Thank you for the info - I have been debating about having it rechecked when I finish my round. My doctor had just increased my meds in March and I wondered if weight loss would affect it.

ccmom: I had my thyroid removed 3 years ago and am taking 112 mg of synthroid every morning. I try to wait the hour before I give myself a shot but sometimes it is hard to do before I have to be at work at 7:00 a.m. I will be tested at the end of this month to see what my levels are. It will be interesting to see!

I also feel like I have been losing slower than others. I am on R2P2VLCD 16 and have lost 32 lbs and over 39 inches. I have 15 more to go and hopefully some more inches.

Ok so I have nodules on my thyroid, they wernt cancer when i had them biopsy 3 years ago. I had a fallowup ultrasound done last week and the dr called and said she needs to see me. I plan on starting my next round next week, will the HCG affect my blood work as in if my thyroid is working properly? My dr cant see me till aug.

    thanks

asipleaz... I too have no thyroid.. i found out that i had been on inadequate thyroid meds for prolly a very long time (like 6yrs.) .. I had generic synthroid which is a T4 med and most doc believe that the med will convert to T3 in your body.. T3 is what your body uses to function..Well mine did not convert..whenever i had my bloodwork done i would get "normal" results..well thats fine and good you're testing my TSH...but that only measures what im taking, not what its doing in my body.. So after 6 months of strenuous exercise and diet i only lost 17.8 pounds and i had had enough, so i googled my med and man o man was i glad i did..
ordered ALL the thyroid tests availiable and found that i was all over the charts.. Happy to say i fired my doc AND my endo..now i go to a holisitc md who treats by symptoms AND numbers.. Im on nature throid which gives me T3 & T4 i feel amazing and have lost 16.2 pounds in 10 days of this diet..
go to stopthethyroidmadness.com..or google synthroid and snoop around you'll be amazed what you'll find..

    good luck!

My endo, too, just switched me back from generic synthroid to Armour. Already, I feel 100% better. My body just does not convert the T4 well, either. I have lost 18.8 lbs in 19 days, so something must be working. I'm very happy!

asipleaz.. why do you need to wait 1 hour after taking your thyroid meds to do you injection?? It shouldn't matter, injection is either IM or subq would have nothing to do with absorbtion of thyroid meds by the stomach, right?? It's not like eating.

mommao... I would definately talk to your doctor and let him know about the HCG, yes HCG will definately affect your thyroid levels and how it functions, I don't know if the affects are the same for everyone, if it slows it down or speeds it up, it's probably different for everyone.. I have hashimoto's and when I started R1 I was hyper, they lowered my synthroid and kept my cytomil the same. 3 weeks post R2 I am hypo!! I too am using synthroid and a compounded T3. Another thing you may want to research/ consider (not to scare you) but I believe HCG makes cancer cells grow or can speed up the growth. I know when you are pregnant this happens for sure. Do some research, talk to your doc.

Wastinaway.... Mine just switched me from cytomil to compounded T3 along with 100 of synthroid. She also said those with hashimoto's should not be on Armour due to the glandular component of it. I don't fully understand it, but she seems to be up on all the latest in nutrition/ meds etc. I was the same, my tsh was completely normal but my T3, T4 not good!!

Wastinaway...I fired my 1st endo..sounds like you should fire yours. Life's too short to stay in the "care" of doctors with a God complex. I know I must sound insane when I say it, but I really, REALLY think my 1st endo had some kind of mental issue with her own morbid obesity (yes, I am serious) & actually WANTED her patients to be fat & unhealthy (misery loves company??). Sounds paranoid, but if you met this woman, you'd understand. I'm still trying to figure out how she even made it through medical school.

Anyway, I am tickled pink with my current endo. Do yourself a favor &, if it is at all an option, kick him to the curb.

definitely have your thyroid re-checked during and after hcg...I had to drop my dosage considerably after losing even 25lbs on my first round!
