And I think the culprit is eggs. Twice now I have had eggs.....actually 3 times. Had fried eggs.....almost died....literally. Pain in the back and under the sternum unreal.
Then, I have had the mug cake twice and each time horrible pain that beings hours later. The second time I had mug cake was last night and have been up since 5 am with another attack.
got on this board and read about taking apple cider vinegar and that along with the digestive enzymes have given me some relief.
Obviously, I will avoid eggs but what does this mean for me? Is it just a phase and it will pass and I can eat eggs again? Anyone with experience with this?

My doctor warned me about pancreatitis being a risk with this kind of a diet. Our fats are releasing all sorts of toxins in to our bloodstream as we lose the weight, and a lot of that has to be filtered through the liver. That is why he had me do a liver detox before starting, and take enzymes and detox support throughout the diet. If you are having severe pain in the area of the liver, you need to get it checked out immediately!

You should seek out a medical diagnosis. It could be a variety of things. I have had my gall bladder out and it sounds similar to my attacks. Extremely painfull. You do not want the gall bladder to burst which is a risk with an attack. An altra sound and a scope will rule out gall bladder or liver problems. When I had my first gall bladder attack we called the hospital and they thought it was a heart attack and sent an ambulance to pick me up, so heart pains can also go accross the back not the chest. Take care and hopefully it is nothing too serious!

Thanks for the feedback. I feel so much better now and yes I already decided I will call my Dr. Monday. I have never had issues before but I can tell you it's not fun!
Definitely no more eggs for me till I get some reassurance!

actually any fat can cause attacks. I had two horrible attacks before I found out what it was. The second one ended up w/ me in the hospital and I passed out in front of the ER, I have never passed out in my life. My surgery wasn't for two weeks and I had to be on a very low fat diet for those two weeks. The fat gets the gall bladder to start trying to pump out lots of bile, but if you have stones then if one gets stuck and the bile is building and building that is the pain. Well, something like that. But the gall bladder doesn't recognize whether it is 'good fats' or 'bad fats'. So until you get it checked out you may want to avoid fatty foods.

There are other foods besides fats that can cause an attack and onions is up there on the most recognized food to cause an attack. So is citrus (oranges/lemons). If you have a fever with this pain do seek medical treatment immediately. Otherwise you can try to avoid the offending foods until you can get into your doctor. There is a home remedy of teas made from cucumber or flax seed that relieve symptoms for some people. Take care of yourself!

Mostly a lurker here but....I am a fellow sufferer....I actually had a really nasty attack yesterday :( Ironically, one factor that can exacerbate gall bladder attacks is....sudden weight loss! I am going to try apple cider vinegar for my next attack but yesterday, lying 10 min on my left side (bile drains more easily) got rid of the pain. I can tolerate coconut oil and small amts of cheese but I can't have anything cooked in oil or nuts/nut butters. I have read that if your attacks were caused by rapid weight loss that you have a higher chance of recovery w/out surgery. Just avoid offending foods (temporarily) and step up your vit C. I'd also see a doc to make sure you don't have a blockage. HTH a little!
