I have a teenager who I do not believe is overweight but this past year she has gotten stretch marks all down the back of her legs. This is making her VERY self conscience and I don't know how to help her. Does anyone have any ideas? they keep getting worse. She is about 5'3" and weighs 130lbs and is muscular. Her pediatrician said she was healthy at her well child check.
Thanks for your ideas and help

That must be very frustrating for her. Other than scar/stretch mark creams I'm not sure what she can do. There's a prescription one that I know works really well, maybe the pediatrician would be willing to prescribe it for her. There is probably a laser treatment of sorts that would help, but it would also come at a hefty monetary cost.

no the pediatrician was no help at all. She's a conventional Dr and I am losing faith in them more and more

Also my extremely skinny teen has them but just on her hips which I think she got from growing tall so fast a couple inches in one month but she can cover hers and they don't bother her one bit. She's like 5'8" and 115-120

Ugh... I hate doctor's that only want to do things their way! Sometimes you have to treat the patient not just the ailment!!! If you have insurance...then I'd take her to a dermatologist - they will certainly more open to helping her.

There is a product made by Jafra that has worked very well for my teen who got them on her breasts, and hips. It is the stretch marker corrector and runs around $30.00.

Robbi is right the dermatiologist would probably know more about skin issues than the peditrician.
