I am doing sublingual and Dr. B's 250 i.u.'s 2 x day. Anyway, I have 5000 i.u.'s of Hucog premixed liquid and then my saline solution. I have a 30 ml amber presealed vial to mix it in. I can't open the top of the vial! I got them from GPZ services. I do have a 20 g. mixing needle so I guess I suck up 9 ml. of saline and 1 ml, or the entire 5000 i.u.'s, of Hucog. but do I stick the needle into the rubber in the middle of the cap and inject it into that? If so, how do I withdraw it then for sublingual use? Do I then need a needle to extract it and put it under my tongue? If so, do I need a new needle 2 x a day?
I need this info tonight as I am starting in the morning.
You are correct on the solution amounts and yes just poke the top with the needle in any area. I don't think you would need a new needle everyday, just as long as you were able to keep it in a "clean sterile" area or back in the needle cover for the next day, since this is sublingual. Just draw out what you need, replace the needle cover and remove than do the dose under the tongue, is how I would do it if that's the bottle I had. Diane
I wouldn't use that vial for sublingual. It would be too tough to have to pull out 2x a day. Just look around the house for an old glass bottle that maybe used to have cough syrup in it or some other kind. Or go to a health food store and get a glass bottle and use that.
