.... Round 2 Phase 3 Day...3, I think. I have lost 31 pounds in two rounds, since March.
In April of 2009 I had blood work done and a check up and the only "problem" was high cholesterol. My numbers were 211, LDL 42 and HDL 178. Feb 2010 chol was 211 again but no LDL or HDL was measured.
Today (yeah, test results in an hour!) chol. 141, LDL 48 and HDL 90!!!
WOW!!!
I have been on P3 for a few days and eaten pork, pork rind and avocado. Last night I had butter on zuchhini. I am just amazed and happy, too, at the results. Is this likely to be the case in 6 months when I am on maintenance?? Is this only b/c of P2 eating?? Just curious about why there was such a dramatic change.
Wowee!! That's fantastic, Minnie! I have an appointment on August 4, and I, too, am anxious to see if there's a change, especially since my endo put me back on Armour thyroid. My cholesterol was already back down under 200, using the treatments he had implemented, before this protocol, but I suspect it will be even lower now (or, there's a slight possibility it could be higher, since I'm still in p2 & am still releasing fat).
The big thing with me is going to be seeing if my liver enzymes come back down to normal. They've been slightly elevated, and I suspect it was because of fatty liver. It'll be interesting to see the new results.
Minnie . . . I started hhcg because of high cholesterol (290 overall - - can't find my notes on what it was in May!) and will go to the lab today to get my blood drawn today. I will post my before and after levels as soon as I know them. I hope to see results like yours! I did lose 13 lbs on this eating plan, but it was really all about giving my body a fresh start! My other goal is to get cheaper life insurance, as that is how I discovered it was WAY too high. To maintain it, I will use good fats in P3 and generally avoid starch and sugar from now on. Is that your plan too? How soon will you have it checked again? Will you wait the 6 months or check it again in 3?
The doc today said to check it in a year! I am in Thailand, I should say. Don't know if they do things different here or not.
My plan is to live a fews days of P3 a week and a few of P4. So, avoiding starch and sugar to a degree but also making good choices of complex carbs being better than simple and deciding like that. I am going to re=look at the Dukan Diet, too. I have one more round to do so I am not quite ready to make permanent habits and our P3 and P4 are so "regimented" that I am sticking with that for now.
Min Definitely will look for your results. I hope I don't miss them!
Well, lab just phoned with my cholesterol results. First number is old, second number is new. 290 -268 Total 179-169 LDL 68-64 HDL 205-108 Tri
Kind of disappointed the numbers aren't better, but it is in the genes on all sides, so I'm not surprised. Kind of a bummer when I am 5'4" and only 117 lbs, though. I will have to start on meds now to lower the cost of my life insurance policy. I can get $250,000 more for the same cost, if I get my numbers down. I am sticking to protocol from now on though, because I feel great and dropped 13 lbs! I also struggled with headaches and haven't had any since early P2! Yeah!
