I am about to go away on a trip for 7 days where I will not have access to a fridge, stove, microwave.
I am only on R1P2D13 and I was trying to figure out ow to keep my HCG viable and my protein from poisoning me with e-coli or such. Going out to eat is not an option either, no where will server me any kind of food not covered in gravy or grease.
Also I live in Texas and the heat is amazing this time of year so keeping things cool will be a real challenge.
Should I just stop my HCG and begin a phase 3 diet until I return or should I continue with Phase 2 and try to find some kind of protein I can take with me, like some kind of shake or something that won't expire in the heat. Getting so anxious about this. =(
You could do a break for your trip... stop hcg and continue VLCD for 3 days then move to P3. Return to P2 when you're back from your trip. If you're gone less than 14 days you won't need to load again. Now, for the bad part. You really should be on Hcg for 23 days straight (without a break) to rest your hypothalamus - so since you haven't been on that long are you willing to do 23 days when you return? If you don't do the 23 days you might have issues stabilizing in P3.... everyone is different so maybe you'll be okay.
Texas here too...I would try to continue on with the diet but would change some of the protocol to adapt for this week only, mainly the protein shakes and tuna.
I would take Jay Robb shakes and water, apples, oranges, the water-packed tuna & chicken from the other posting I added and as for vegetables, celery and bagged lettuce & spinach would keep in a cooler okay. If you like mushrooms I found these at Wal-mart too - Giorgio Sliced Mushrooms in a jar - ingredients: mushrooms, water, salt and citric acid - 20 calories per serving at 2.5 servings per jar so if you have to eat the whole jar, which I do, it is only 50 calories for your veggie.
Right, but this is to help stick to the diet in extreme circumstances and protein shakes are not on protocol either, but if trying to decide to quit or continue, one needs to decide if they want to bend the protocol a little, without jepordizing the whole thing. Low/no fat tuna, protein shakes, bottled or canned vegetables those things can still get you through rough times, especially for just a week... ;-)
