Hey all! I am r1p2d9 with a remarkable weight loss of 11.5! But I am SOO sick of meat. Has anyone had any luck with subbing eggs or those protein drinks I've been reading about? I seriously am having trouble choking meat down, and I consider myself to be a rather good cook. I'm not a vegetarian because I am slightly anemic but pre protocol I could go weeks without eating meat and really only eat red meat during my TOM (helps with the anemia) I ate a lot of complex carbs and veggies and fruits. I am really wanting a spinach 1 egg 3 egg white omelet… am I safe?
In P&I Simeon says you can have one whole egg plus three whites, or 100 grams of fat-free cottage cheese on occasion if you are sick of meat. I did a veggie omlette on Saturdays and Sundays on two rounds of P2, except I used Egg Beaters instead of the whole egg to reduce the fat content. I topped the eggs/spinach with tomatoes and skipped the fruit serving for those meals. I found plain cottage cheese kinda blah so usually I blended it with canned roasted tomatoes and spices and make a soup out of it. You can also blend it with frozen strawberries, stevia and ice for a nice shake.
As far as the protein shakes, there is an entire thread called "Better Losses Using Jay Robb Shakes" or something like that. I've been visiting this and two other Hcg boards for over 6 months now, and it appears the vast majority of people lose fine with the shakes. Many clinics recommend them too. I had my best losses after having just a protein shake for dinner. I often thickened them up with powdered glucommanan, which made it very pudding-like.
My mother and other sister and using the shakes. Sister #4 is doing extremely well on those. She became severely anemic (due to other reasons, not the diet) so her Dr. temporary stopped her on the diet so her body could recover. She went straight into P3 and has continued to do the shakes, and is still losing weight. I know she's not supposed to, but she's eating 1500 calories a day and she's eating better now than she ever has in her life, so we're just letting it go to see how much she can lose.
Hey Lauren.... I used Jay Robb R1P2 and will them this round too. I would either sub out a meal or have 1/2 scoop with left over coffee, ice and stevia in the blender for a treat if I had room for the calories.
I would say once a week I would do the 1 egg + 3 egg whites for a meal, or a hard boiled egg for my morning snack instead of my fruit. It really makes a difference to mix things up every now and then to take away the bordem.
You're welcome. Again...so sorry I had to leave on you guys yesterday. :(
Everything I learned, I learned from this forum. Don't hesitate to contact me with any question or suggestions even! I'm right there in P2 with ya as of today. :)
oh don't worry about it at all! I totally understand. I'm happy you made the trek out to Kirkwood with all the stuff you have going on. We'll have to do it again or i would really have like a weekly plan. Like every monday at 8am we do something... or SOMETHING we need to get all of our schedules together and see what works for everyone.
I'm on R1P2VLCD37 and have been having a jay robb every day for the past 5 days in place of a protein. I've been doing fine with them. I've been on a 3 day stall but I'm pretty sure that's because of TOM and not the shakes. I actually do about a scoop and a half ( and add half a table spoon of cocoa powder and a packet of truvia) a little less than 3/4 cup of water and about 8 ice cubes and blend. Delicious!
