I'm on P2D2..brand new HCG dieter.

I did the weighing of my extra lean ground beef and my skinless chicken breasts - I did exactly 100 grams. That's correct, right?

My question is this : Do I calculate calories based on the RAW meat - at 100 grams/3.5 ounces OR do I calculate based on the 2 ounces that the meat weighs after it has been cooked? Because I've noticed it makes a considerable difference.

I've read a lot on this diet & skimmed this forum for the past week or so but have never seen anyone mention this before. Can anyone tell me what the proper way to calculate calories for meats is?

Also, I was wondering...based on calories from the precooked meat and all the veggies and fruits I ate yesterday (didn't bother buying melba toast), I only came to about 380 something calories total. Is this going to hurt me? I lost 3.2 pounds on my first VLCD, I was not hungry (actually thought having eat weigh foods & eat them was a nuisance & would just rather have gone hungry all day) and didn't know what else I could do to up my calorie intake without going against protocol for meals and fruits for snacks. If coming in under 500 calories on a regular basis is going to hurt me, how can I increase them to get my full 500 without screwing up the protocol? I know one thing about diet and it is to follow it STRICTLY...so I'm doing my best, being so new to it & all. But the calories I consumed (expecting it to total up to more when I was done) has me a little stumped. Help!?

You only have to weigh meat and yes you take the calories from the raw food. It's just important not to go OVER.

What you are doing is just fine. If you really feel the need to count calories (as you've already seen you end up eating way under the 500) then you would count what you put in your mouth. So in this case it would be the chicken.

You will find very often that you aren't hungry. Personally I always make sure that I eat the correct amount of protein and have some fiber in my diet, i.e. an apple, a salad or a vege because you need the fiber to help digest the protein.\\

After that you are fine. You are doing just fine and congrats on the 3.2 loss!

Okay, thanks so much for the advice, Grammy & Jenni! I have been so nervous about this diet because it's the first time I've tried something like this...where you have pretty much zero room for error. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. :)
