My wife and I are on the last day of R2(23 days) having done the drops both times. I've had no problems whatever but she has had at first a nagging and then a chronic issue with her throat. Never having had GERD or Acid Reflux, the symptoms do seem similar to descriptions of those. She has been taking Apple Cider Vinegar and avoiding caffeine to a good extent. Her major symptom is a sensation of something stuck in her throat making swallowing not impossible but not the way it usually is, which is something we do without noticing it. Last round (45 days) she did not have the symptoms until the start of P3 and then suffered some more classic Acid Reflux symptoms which slowly abated as time went on. We waited the right time to return before beginning R2 and she does not have any cold or flu-like symptoms. Any thoughts? Mr. Happymeal
We've stuck with chicken, apples, & melba toast primarily. One or two tuna meals straight from the can, one or two strawberries servings for fruit. We don't season much other than with dried rosemary, basil, and thyme which she's never had adverse response to. She does love cinammon on her apples at each fruit time. She drinks green tea and when she can she likes coffee. That's about it. We haven't been adventuresome. Find it easiest to keep it simple on P2. She feels the 'best' right after having eaten with the symptoms lifting for 20-30 minutes before they return. Any help is much appreciated.
Grammy - So I spent some time on the net and wonder... could this be a response to cinnamon? She really does sprinkle it liberally on her apples and has two apples a day. I'm wondering about having her take a OTC clariton or benadryl to see if it does anything. Of all the things we've had during the two P2's, her use of cinnamon would be the biggest change from her pre protocol eating habits. Does this sound a good idea to you... the benadryl/clariton idea? If it IS an allergy to cinnamon we will both be greatly relieved! -Mr. Happymeal
To Grammy and anyone else interested: if you read the thread above, you'll see that my wife had throat problems that weren't GERD, but which were fairly alarming, even on ACV, even when cutting out caffeine, etc. Guess what? Cinnamon. She cut that out and the problem vanished.
