c- but if your levels of T4 are very low (as mine are) and you take only armour, then your T3 may get too high (which is just what happened to me in my last set of labs).

I'm obviously technically challenged because I've tried to figure out how to use the new forum, but can't find anything I'm looking for. Not even typing the question in search.

How many protein/steak days can I do at one time? How many days do I need to skip?
I've obviously got a problem so the protein/steak days won't help unless I'm retaining, which I'm not.
But if a protein day is what I'm supposed to do after a wt gain over LDW, then so be it. But could someone tell me how many times/days?

    Thanks so much.

Deb, so sorry you are still having this problem. You know a big steak usually makes me go, maybe the combo of fat and the bulk of it, I don't know. If you do go to the ER, I doubt that they would do anything like IVs or anything, they would just get it out. It might be worth the trip to the ER and then you can worry about doing a steak day and protien days after that. The search tab on the new site wasn't much help for me either.

most people don't find any benefit in doing more than one steak day in a row. but if your weight is up (like after vacation), many will do a few high-protein days in a row. or just a number of days where you eat protein and veggies only (low carb).

    Thanks Turtle.
I've had steak almost every night since being on p3, (and most of p2) with no luck.
Had my flu shot today, so I asked the pharmacist about this little problem. He suggested all the products that I've already tried and couldn't believe the Citris magnesium didn't work. He said the protein type diets tend to cause this to happen.
And what am I doing today? A protein day!
I did have a small salad earlier. And chicken and shrimp. Bleh!
Today is the first day that I feel like something is wrong. But still no pain or distress. Just VERY VERY tired. Like getting from one room to another is a lot of work. Anemia type feeling. But big time! Temp and BP are fine.
Still not sure whether I have another protein day tomorrow, and what type? What I'm doing today, or a steak day? (I am SO sick of steak)

I hate being a bother. I really do. But I just don't know what I'm SUPPOSED to do without screwing this up. (my biggest concern, believe it or not)

Uh, what the heck do you mean they'd just 'get it out.' UH UH!!!! Just give me a pill and let ME handle the problem. ;)

Not sure how to get around the new forum. I've tried but it's overkill. Everything but what I'm looking for. Not that I could figure out how to find it if it were there.

I meant magnesium citrate. I think my brain is being affected! :)

Thanks mgsondance. I'll do another protein day tomorrow. But, if we know it's not actual wt gain or water retention, will the protein days really help this situation?
Or, does Dr Simeon say that no matter why the wt is there, do the protein/steak days? I can't find the info on that part of it.

This is a first for me, and I sure hope it's the last time I EVER have THIS problem! And I thought round two was a breeze! HA!!!!

    Thanks again.

hi deb- i was just responding to your immediate post. i don't think you have to do any type of correction day if your weight is up from such severe constipation. i have 2 words for how they'd help that in ER- manual extraction... :)

dr. s. doesn't say much about how to lose weight in P3. he says that if you don't do a steak day at the 2# point, that several days of "strict dieting" might be necessary- but he never specifies what that would be. if i were you right now, i'd make sure i was eating sufficient protein (50% more than P2), and LOTS and lots of salads and high fiber veggies.
