Oh, I know-Kale chips are amazing, I've made my own in my dehydrator when I was big into raw foods. However, when it comes to eating it on P2, id stay away. If it isnt on the list, it isnt because Dr. S forgot it, its because its not allowed. Feel free to experiment, I myself stick to protocol because I want to maximize my weight loss. You have the rest of your life to enjoy those kale chips.
I would think yes, the allowed list includes any lettuces, chard and spinach, and I would think kale falls into one of these categories, or at least comes extremely close...it is a leafy green veg. Although portions may come into play, seems to be a little calorie dense-1 cup has 34 calories...
Thanks! I was thinking the same. I thought it'd be allowed since most leafy greens are. Hmmmm. But I agree, calorie dense. I lightened dinner by having shrimp instead of chicken or beef. Hopefully that offset any damage if it's truly not allowed.
* heat over to 350 * tear apart a bunch of kale into chip sized pieces * lay down on a cookie sheet with a layer of parchment paper * spray lightly with spray olive oil / coconut oil / cooking spray ... or not, depending on what phase you're in *season kale (i use sea salt, fresh cracked black pepper, garlic powder) *cook 12 - 15 minutes until they look crispy. *devour
Sounds divine!!! I love garlic - and I love veggies! Was going to say would definitely make this weekend. But I will most likely be having a grandson born very soon. Daughter-in-law was due the 26th (originally, date was August 2, but they changed it at 4 mos...looks like they shouldn't have changed it!) If no baby before, she goes to hospital Sunday nite, they medicate her cervix to start dilation. Then potocin Monday morning. Also, I will have my almost 3 year old granddaughter some of the time, too.
Praying all this baby stuff doesn't derail me this weekend on P3. Started P3 yesterday (Thursday.) Was dying for a shake for breakfast and it did not hit the spot like I expected! And I felt nauseous for awhile afterward. Really enjoyed having tons of stuff in a salad at dinner! Another learning experience...!
