I am feeling very dizzy and weak today. My head feels like a migraine is about to strike. My ears are feeling slightly clouded over. My neck is also extremely sore. I thought that maybe I had a vertebrae out and my back needed cracked. My husband lifted me off the ground (he is a good bit taller than I am) and my back cracked in the usual place that causes me neck pain. When he put me down, I fell to the floor. I didn’t pass out, but my legs were so weak that I couldn’t stand.

This is my first round. I am on day 10 of the 500 cals (VLCD10, is this how I write this?) I have lost a total of 14 lbs (of about 60+ that I need to lose). I am not hungry during the day. Everything has been going GREAT so far. I have read other posts suggesting low blood sugar or possibly blood pressure issues. I don’t have a way to check either right now. Any suggestions on what I should do?

    Thanks a bunch!

Low blood sugar can be helped by spacing out your food for the day into more meals. Maybe eat a few bites of chicken and part of an apple for breakfast, snack on the rest of the apple midmorning. For lunch, eat the rest of the chicken and a veggie. Break up the next fruit into a few snacks for the afternoon, etc.
I have a friend who did this, and it really helped her.

I usually try to space mine out, but not that much I will have to try it. I actually ate two meals yesterday instead of spacing them (scheduling issue). That could be why I feel like this today. Thanks for the thought.

it is not uncommon to have weakness at this point in your round- especially when you've lost so much weight at the beginning. it will get better. if you need to, eat a little more protein. the neck pain is probably an entirely different issue.

BigMomma - I felt that way too until I started taking vitamins (& minerals) everyday. I didn't realize how important they are at first, but they've made a world of difference for me.

    Hope you're feeling better. :)

I've had neck pain in the base of my neck in the back since I started. I really believe it has to do with the fact that we are losing fat everywhere. I don't know your weight distribution, but on me the back of my neck had several rolls and I am finally down to one roll so I'm assuming just like the muscles that we lose fat in, we are losing fat there too. I know when I mentioned it to the doctor he wasn't too concerned.

Jenni ~ I really don't have extra fat on my neck... mostly my belly... could be how I am sleeping... the pain is off and on now... not as bad as that day...

DTinLA ~ what all vitamins do you take... I know a lot of people take different things... I didn't think you were supposed to take anything though

Oh absolutely take a multi. Just look for one without sugar or with only trace amounts. I'm not DT but I take Life Caps. I swear by them because you can take them on an empty stomach and they won't eat at your stomach or make it hurt or make you nauseous.

I forgot all about the Life Caps. That was a hot topic on the forum a while back. Did they help you Jenni?

I do continue to take them JoAnn. I swear by them. The only thing I've found is that I can only take 1 during P2 as they make me feel shaky by the end of the day. What I found out was occuring was that my blood sugar was going low in the afternoons and I wasn't aware of it. I'm at the point in my diabetes that I don't feel the lows anymore. The lows are caused by not eating cause I'm really not hungry when I take them. So now I just take one in the morning on an empty stomach and am getting the vits I need.
