    Hey everyone, I have been doing some extensive research and I was thinking about taking a serotonin booster. Now, I'm not sure if the ingredients are going to affect the diet. Any advice would be really appreciated!!!

    It contains:
    * 5-HTP (Griffonia simplicifolia) 100 mg
    * Saffron Extract (Crocus sativus; 0.3% safranal, Satiereal®) 200 mg
    * Inositol 1000 mg
    * Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine HCL) 20 mg

    The pills themselves are made with:
    * Gelatin capsules (gelatin, water, glycerin), magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and magnesium silicate.

    And here is the disclaimer: This product does not contain wheat, yeast, gluten, eggs, dairy, corn, artificial colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives.

    These should be fine! I take 5htp as part of my migraine protocol.

    Oh. I LOVE LOVE LOVE 5-HTP. I try to do 100mg a day. Really helps keep me 'even' especially around TOM (when I may carve up my children and put them on the BBQ if they ask me "what's for dinner?" in the wrong tone, heh heh heh). However, I'm not familiar with the other ingredients - well, not the inositol and saffron extract.

    LOL!!! I've heard of the inositol but not the saffron. But it won't hurt your diet. :-)

    I have taken several things for depression and low seratonin, and the 5htp is the bomb!!!

    what's the difference b/w taking 5htp and just taking serotonin?

    Foxy- my understanding is that 5-HTP is what is needed to produce serotonin. Sometimes as we get older, the 5-HTP is not produced as readily in our bodies. But I'm not sure why you wouldn't just take serotonin, as opposed to taking the 5-HTP. . . . . I'll have to do some research on that!
