Ok, so I am on day 14 of maintenance. I went on vacation with my family last week and did go off protocol. However, when I weighed yesterday, I was 3 lbs over my LDW. So, I did steak day yesterday. I did have some milk with cocoa for sugar free hot chocolate. One in the morning....then had my steak with a tomato with a little mayo and another milk before bed. This morning, I am UP 2.4lbs!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!! I don't get it. Steak day ALWAYS works for me. Now, I don't know what to do. Do I do steak day again? High protein day? Where do I go from here?
Have you eaten something totally new? Have you stopped something without thinking about it Water intake? #2?
when i jumped 6 pounds i found it was something i had stopped taking along with something i stopped doing had stopped trace minerals and had stoped pooping.

Quelsen, ok, so this is a little TMI but, I feel like I have to poop and can't. Also, I had loose bowels for several days prior to this....think that started maybe Friday night. I had meatballs over the weekend that had a little bread crumbs in them with MAYBE a third of a cup of pasta. I also ate Gumbo which had a roux in it (flour). Most of my badness was drinking rum punch over the weekend. Honestly, I fully expected to gain more than the 1.8lbs I did but, I sure didn't expect to gain it AFTER a steak day.
What about just eating steak today.....maybe a little this morning and then tonight? What else do you do on a high protein day? I've heard people say they don't eat eggs or cheese or nuts on high protein days....so, what do you eat exactly????
Varden, is it really ok to do two steak days in a row?
The gain could have come from two places--a delayed reaction to the cheats over the weekend or the mayo and other off protocol things on your steak day. I'd eat protein every 2-3 hours today with no nuts, dairy or eggs and see how you do tomorrow. Good luck!
Thanks, Grammy. What kinds of protein do you usually stick to? Do you eat deli meats? What about the fat on the steak or skin on say, rotissere chicken?
You can have fats, no problem. I don't eat deli meats because I've never found one without sugar. I usually eat chicken, beef, fish, any kind of real meat.
What about shell fish? Shrimp don't usually help when I need to lose....what about crab? I'm just trying to think of things that are quick....so, when you say fat is ok, do you mean just the fat from the meat or can you eat mayo, butter, etc?
Nola, hon... a steak day is drinking lots of water, steak and a tomato or apple. If you add other foods, it's not going to work for you like it should and you will be--as your are now--frustrated.
