Any thoughts on what a sugar and starch lover like me should do??? I have already went organic on my foods but how about whole grain breads and pasta and using raw sugars??? I know I have to eat s and s in moderation but I'm kind of worried I'll never get to have another pack of m&m's without getting fat. Anybody out there got any ideas on this and on cooking with raw sugars and the grains?
Buffstuff89 - at www.mercola.com there's a free metabolic typing test you can take. Sean mentions Dr. Mercola, that's how I found it. And it's only like 30 questions, maybe. I'm a Protein Type. Of course, lol.
DT - Thanks! I like pretending I'm on a first name basis with Sean... he's smokin' hot, donchathink? I'm off to take my test, pretty sure I'm protein too (hope so!)
4inblue - you're just going to have to follow the protocol... you have to stay away from S&S for 3 weeks in P3, then you HAVE to add them back super super slow or you'll gain like crazy. But you CAN add them back in! You just need to do it slowly enough that your body can adjust and learn how to deal with it. We're supposed to be able to eat a balanced diet (after P4) including whole grains, starchy veggies in moderation (OH NO, THERE'S THAT "M" WORD!) and even some sugars. The important thing will be introducing them SLLLLOOOOOWWWWLLLY and sticking with unprocessed stuff. Believe me, you can even make your own M&Ms so much better than Hershey's and not worry about gaining (even in P3! See "chocolate delight" threads). I love to bake with coconut and almond flours & flaxseed meal in P3. But trust me, if you fall off the wagon before doing your P4 nice and slow you'll end up repeating your round (like me, and it SUCKS). Sorry if that's too much jibberjabber, it's just a topic I'm rather passionate about... because I'm determined not to gain it back this time!
Paendora - great way to sum it up! Derh. I make things so complicated! ;o)
thanks so much buffstuff89. I will def do it slowly. I've actullay started making a few things at home that have been really good. Just gotta get through this vacation!!!! But hey, it's a life style change right????
When I finally get to have a real slice of bread again, what are the thoughts on just going with sprouted grains that you can get at trader joes. They have so many amazing looking breads. I thought in my vast google knowledge I looked up that eating sprouted grains had a much lower impact on blood sugar? Anyone know info that would back this up? The breads they look amazing!! I almost caved last week during a short p3 break and got cinnamon raisin sprouted bread....but I walked away! So - thoughts? (obviously not on P3, I was being mentally weak but pressed on)
Anyway - I have added the original formulas to my P2/P3 excel sheets...it's kind of nice to reference.
