This is day 8 of protocol and I became very frustrated after seeing my husband drop weight double what I have. I've lost 8.5 lbs.
I found this forum and began to read all the things I am doing wrong such as mixing veggies (some other sites said it was okay). How big of a deal is this really? A friend also told me it was okay but now I'm thinking after reading here that it is not.
I just read the labels on the spices I've been using and sure enough in the garlic salt there is vegetable oil & sugar! $#@& There is also Soy Bean Oil in the McCormick's steak spice. Is this okay or not?
Is there a list of cosmetics and lotions that is okay to use?
This is the first diet I've been on my whole entire life and I really want to do it right so any help and advise is greatly appreciated.
No the soybean oil is not okay either. It's oil plus soy messes with your thyroid. I don't mix veggies but I follow the protocol pretty tightly. Anything oil free is okay in the line of cosmetics and lotions.
Since you are new, i'd recommend doing a search for the discussion board named 5 things you wish you would have hnown before starting. It has lots of good tips and info!!
Look at every spice label for hidden sugar, soy or starches.
I don't know of a list of cosmetics or lotions - they need to be oil free. I personally use a neutrogena oil free lotion. It changed to mineral make up too.
Try not to mix veggies. There is a lot of wrong info out there but you have come to the right place to get answers! As far as your hubby loosing more - guys always loose weight easier. Don't compare yourself to him!!
The average weight loss for women is actually 1/2 lb per day. So you are well above average. You can't compare yourself to your husband in this regard. Also, that's an average. Some days you may lose more, some less, some nothing at all. It can be frustrating, but when you consider most diets you lose a pound a week, this is a fantastic result!
Many people do mix veggies. But if this is your first round, stick to the protocol as written before experimenting. I did one round not mixing vegetables and one round mixing them, and it made no difference. But anything with oil is a definite no-no.
