I'm on VLCD24 and really want to be done. I'm not at my goal for this round, but I'm so sick of chicken and salads. But my mom & I are doing this together and we are going to keep going until we are out of drops. After dinner tonight I realized that the meat I ate was 85/15 ground turkey and the seasoning had sugar. I'm so upset because I didn't cheat but now I'm going to have the results of cheating! What can I expect? I've lost 13.5 pounds so far which is still more than .5 per day so I'm ok with that. I've gone up & down (not very far down) over the last week and a half because of TOM. I've only lost 3 pounds this week. Am I going to lose any more weight or will the too fat turkey & sugar from tonight make me gain/stall for the rest of my round?
OH turtle, that really stinks. Before you do anything else, sequester that seasoning, or toss it, so you don't make that simple mistake again. I wouldn't be surprised if you might have used it previously during this round, though-and your losses have been average in spite of it if that has happened. So hopefully it won't set you back TOO badly, or for too long. Plus, if the weight of the meat was accurate, it can't be a HUGE indiscretion. I know you wish like heck it hadn't happened, but then again, it's not like you ate many, many grams of fat like in bacon, etc. According to CalorieKing.com, for 85/15, there's 148 calories and 8.2 grams of fat in 3.5 oz (raw); vs 120 cal and 1 g of fat in 99% lean turkey. Not a big caloric difference, but yes, more fat. I guess you / we will find out ;-) if that makes a huge difference.
Just try to keep a positive attitude, which I know can be VERY hard, and try not to grimace at the scale too much the next day or two. Meanwhile, maybe we can all benefit from the information you glean from this accident...er...experiment? How nice that you have support in the house like that too. I was ready to quit around VLCD24 but-it passed. My losses really slowed then, too; I think that might be kind of typical.
So I weighed this morning and actually lost a pound. I'm not rejoicing yet, I may still see it tomorrow, right? Anyway, I do believe that I had the exact same meal early on and didn't see a gain. My mom isn't the best on reading labels! I'll let you know what the scale says tomorrow!
You may still see it tomorrow: but it probably won't be huge. And I bet you DID have it early on. Now you know: my Mom would do the same thing. God love her, she wouldn't mean to miss it-but really. Who would expect sugar in something like a poultry seasoning (which I imagine is what you're referring to-something like a Lawrey's, maybe)?
Hang in there. I am happy to hear that you lived to fight another day!
