I have lost apprx 60 lbs with 2 rounds of HCG. I'm entering phase 4 of my second round now. I have another 60 pounds or so I'd like to lose, but I don't think I'll do another round until next year. When can I start trying to lose weight on my own? Is it after phase 4, or...?
i'd get into P4 long enough to re-introduce those foods you want to, and see how they affect your weight. if you do try to lose on your own i'd do it slowly (1-2#/wk). some people believe you risk messing up your hypothalamus again, but if you know for sure you're going to do another round next year then that shouldn't be a problem.
Thank you mgsondance! I worry about messing up my hypothalamus also, but I'm not sure what direction to go right now because my husband and I are hoping to conceive another baby soon. If that happens, I won't be doing another round until after baby. I would just like to continue to lose while waiting to conceive.
i think the bigger concern is if you do some type of "fad" diet, or try to lose weight fast. if you can slowly lose by following some type of low-carb program, go for it! :)
I was thinking more along the lines of basic healthy eating, weight watchers style since that used to work so well for me in the past, and less sugars and carbs....lifestyle changes really.
Maybe not the WW points system, but that other one where it's more low carb would probably be better. I can't remember the name of it. I know with the points system on WW a few years ago I did horribly. I was eating too many carbs and sugars.
