Hi- been on P3 for 7 days now and have fluctuated some, one time I shoed a gain of 4 lbs over, did a steak day and lost it all. Since then I have gone up nd down but always about a lb or 2 over liw I have had major trouble in this phase of the diet having a BM, and I have noticed once beore when I weighed 3 ls over LIW, than had a BM, I was only about 1 lb over LIW. The dairy diet I am on is lovely but I feel like I get so bloated some times and it is very difficult for me to BM. I ave been using laxatives but I don't want to become dependant on them, plus it seems they are becoming less effecive. Am I "safe" if it is 2 lbs and under gain? Or do I need to do a steak day to clear the slate? Or am I just REALLY lactose intolerant and need to switch to a diet of meat and veggies only?

not sure what you mean about "dairy diet", but if you're experiencing bloating it is likely that you have some degree of sensitivity to dairy. as long as you don't go over 2# MORE than your liw your weight is fine- it's normal for it to vary, and certainly if you're constipated. how many veggies are you eating? i notice that most people don't eat nearly enough veggies when they're on P3 because they're too worried about trying to eat protein. the fiber in the veggies will help your digestive system.

well I mean mostly eggs, cheese, sour cream and unflavored unsugared yogurt. For aout the past 3-4 days I have been having a salad at lunch to et in my greens, but maybe that is not enough "roughage". Also before this I didn't eat much dairy at all - I would drink soymilk, which I miss. I never used to eat that much cheese or cream or cow's milk at all. Maybe I should try to cut it out for a couple of days and see if there is a difference. The steak day took me even .4 BELOW my LIW, and since there was nothing but protein (steak) and ruit (an apple) on that day, maybe the dairy foods ARE causing some inflammation. Before I went to bed las night, I felt so bloated I thought my stomach would pop for sure!

i'd definitely minimize the dairy, then. i try to get in some veggies at every meal. since we're not eating grains on P3, and many people are minimizing fruit, it's hard to get in enough fiber.
