I have been on the Hcg protocol for a few weeks, with lots of backsliding on my part. But I have still lost 8 kgs, I had a blow out weekend when I was away and gained about 7 lb, and I wasn't taking the Hcg. Came home and went straight back on it, and lost those 7 lb in 2 days. I think if I had just dieted without the Hcg it would have taken a lot longer. The great side effects I have discovered, is that my diverticulitis and severe indigestion have disappeared. And yet when I blow it and eat a high carb diet, back they come with a vengeance! Telling me something here!

It's probably the gluten, cobwebqueen. There is more gluten intolerance out there than people realize!

Since I have only been on it for a few days I am not getting those effects yet. I have Tennis elbow and if I take the asprin for the inflamation I fight very bad indegestion. Can I take pepcid with the HCG?

Me too!!!!!!! Have noticed a real improvement in the texture of my skin, even without my lotion and I was a real lotion gal. Hubby just can't get enough touchy touchy lately because it is so soft. My fibromyalgia pain is markedly improved, my blood pressure came down within the first week. I am off medication for that now. People began to tell me I "look brighter" and I just felt better. Yeah, hcg!!!!!!!

cobweb...there is another aussie here named Oz who wants to make your acquanitance if you havent already. I agree totally with Colleen that there are tons of gluten intolerant folks out there who don't know it...i think this protocol helps you see what works for you. Cleftwich, pepcid is fine with the protocol....if you need it take it...will help with digestion. Teresaf, i had the same change in my skin...loved it. as far as the fibromyalgia pain improving...sounds like you have eliminated something that is inflamatory to you...something you really need to look into!!! You all are doing great!!! Keep up the great spirit and great work!! Barb

all these responses are probably from the change in diet- especially eliminating dairy, wheat, corn and eggs.

I'd like to comment on a few good side effects that I am looking forward to again. I just started r2, today was my first vlcd, I'm happy to say, no hunger, and lots of water, thought very little about food today. When I did my last round, after about 3-4 days, of injections, and faithfully doing the diet. I got such a feeling of euphoria, and well being, I had so much energy, and felt so happy and so good, despite going through many trials in our family. I would wake up each morning with such a feeling of energy and happiness, and such a positive outlook on life, I am really looking forward to feeling that happiness and joy again, as soon as I went off of the hcg, it went away :( Anyway, can't stay on hcg forever. I have to say my acne (grrrr, 47 and still breaking out) completely cleared up, I had great skin for about a month, after hcg, came back, waaaahhh. Not to mention, feeling thinner, lighter, fitting into clothes again, and just plain feeling better. I can say I definetly want to be thinner, more than I want food!!! Looking forward to a great weigh in tomorrow!!! For me, the positives completely out weigh any negatives (mostly nasty dry skin, hands) yay for hcg!!!

Bonnibug, I know exactly what you mean! The last couple of days all I want to do is smile and laugh. My hubby says I act like a different person. I just feel good! I have had Lupus for 25 years and between flairups and meds I have become a witch. I never felt good and always hurt. Since goining on HCG I don't ache all over, no more headaches. My skin has cleared up..I feel wonderful. I have energy, I can breath better.

But now I have to ask myself if all my aches and pains could be allergies? When I go back on P3 I am going to add in foods slowly just to see how they make me feel. Maybe I will stay on HCG for ever!! I know my hubby would like me to

psjack- bingo- i'm guessing that it's the type of food you're eating now rather than the hcg. you're eating no dairy, no sugar, no processed food, no eggs (probably) and only very small amounts of wheat. those are all very common food sensitivities.

you may want to get your food sensitivities checked. your doc might not know how to do that, but ask them to check out the testing offered through great smokies lab.

also check out the book "eat right for your type". one of my docs had a patient with lupus that did not get any relief with standard therapies. ate according to that book and eliminated her symptoms by 95%.
