    I was reading through the while you wait to start post and I saw it suggested to buy enzymes if you have a hard time digesting meat. I definitely do usually I have about 4 tbls flax seed and this helps some but it's not on the original protocol so I was worried about adding that to my diet. What do you think? and also where can I get info on buying enzymes I've never heard of that before except through a dr for people with CF

    if you go to a health food store they could probably help you- there are natural things like papaya extract, although that probably wouldn't be a good idea while on P2. I have chronic fatigue and i take Betaine before eating beef. my doc also had me on one after i eat, but it seemed to make me sick so i don't take it. many people who have blood type A have low stomach acid, and this is one cause of not being able to digest meat well.

    I always take digestive enzymes. As we age, many people have low stomach acid. it's a very good supplement to take. Flaxseed might not be on protocol.

    Oh WOW I never heard that before do you know where I can info on the blood type thing? I have A - I am so shocked! I have struggled with this for all my life and I didn't even know about this? Why don't dr's tell you this stuff, you know what I mean? I also have a gluten allergy but I found out not through a dr after years of going to dr for numerous amounts of test for all my different symptoms that all have in common Gluten allergy yet that was never even discussed they just kept giving me different types of drugs to try. Thank you not complaining just surprised at how much I thought Dr's were all knowing

    My doctor suggested taking Kal-Enzyme with every meal once protocol is over. (About $5.00 to 6.00 a bottle for 100) Says that the way the HCG processed our food is different than the way our bodies normally do it and so after the diet, we can keep the weight off better if we take those enzymes. They help break down the food similar to HCG. So I try to always take them with every meal. Really can't tell a difference, but figure they don't hurt anything to take them.

    Google Blood type diet and you'll find out more info. I'm not totally convinced about it though. I'm a B and am supposedly the only blood type that does dairy well but I know I have some dairy issues so that makes me wary of it.

    trying- check out the book, "eat right for your type". you may also want to have your food sensitivities tested- this needs to be by blood test, since most food sensitivities are delayed (so they can't be checked by the typical scratch test). Great Smokies is the Lab that does the testing- your local lab can not do it.

    when i had my sensitivities done, they all matched up with what the book said about people with type A blood. basically we do better on a vegetarian diet, although we digest chicken well. and peanuts! i remember that part.

    many people are sensitive to a lot of foods and do not know it. most common ones are wheat, gluten, corn, eggs, dairy, mushrooms.

    hmm.. very interesting. I have never liked meat not in the way that I didn't like killing them but the way it tasted I know Ironic that I choose this diet, but I do think it will work wonders for me. But I wonder if my distaste for meat is for this reason. I have always liked fish though. I used to be a vegetarian until I got pregnant with my first child and then I wanted a 1/2lb burger the bloodier the better, LOL I know I have low protein and iron too. I will check out both suggestions the only bummer right now is I have no health insurance I'm self employed and it is hard to find good coverage for a good price.

    trying- since i read that book, i frequently ask vegetarians why they don't eat meat. for the ones that aren't vegetarians for moral reasons, they usually say, "i just feel better if i don't eat meat." and i'm guessing a lot of them have type A blood!

    it's a very interesting book. first recommended by a doctor i saw for back pain. she had a patient with lupus who had tried all kinds of treatments without success, then went on the blood type book and eliminated all her symptoms.

    cindi- are you out there? have you ever tried anything like that for your arthritis?

    My blood type is N. For nitrogen. I seem to really do well in underwater environments and I love chicken wing days. Any other N's out there?
