    LVdieter: I feel your pain, girl. I was a dedicated WW follower and I still think it's a great program (in fact, I'm so used to eating the WW way, it's probably what I'll gravitate back to in P4)... but I truly believe my body just needed a SERIOUS change. I got what I needed on this program, that's for sure! :)

    I'm probably in the minority here, but my biggest motivator for trying this protocol was not to lose weight rapidly. Now don't get me wrong... you don't have to twist my flabby arm to enjoy losing half a pound every day!! But, to be honest, I tried this protocol because I'm hoping that it TRULY DOES reset my metabolism.

    About a year and a half ago I had some, uh, "hardware" installed -- a Mirena IUD, to be exact -- and the hormones, even as low-grade as they were, did a number on me. I gained 13 pounds in four months and didn't do anything different than I'd been doing on WW or with my exercise regimen. Due to that and some other side effects that I didn't like, I had the IUD removed six months after I had it put in -- and my weight loss efforts have seemingly been in vain ever since.

    My thyroid is in perfect balance (thank goodness) and I am in excellent health otherwise... so I'm hoping that HCG is the way to get my metabolism back in action and finally lose these last 20 lbs. CROSSING MY FINGERS!!

    Rockymountainfly, I am currently on R3 P2 D5 and I only did a 14 day P3 before starting this round. I’m down 7.8lbs in 5 days, which is better weight-loss than my last 2 rounds. I was hungry until last night but that was the only negative effect that I have had on this round (except for the headache that I had for the first 2 days!). But today I am full of energy, no headache and almost 8lbs lighter! I chose to start P3 early because I wanted to get back on the protocol. I stopped P2 R2 because I was heartily sick of eating chicken and had to have a break or I might have given in to temptation. If hhcg does not contain any REAL hcg, as many people claim, then it follows that there can be no immunity building up against it.

    1gypsy asks why you would need to stop taking hhcg before you get to your goal weight. It’s not because of immunity; it’s because after 30 days or so, your body cries out for some food with flavour and unless you are incredibly strong and can repress the desire for proper food, you could fail at that point. So I made a conscious decision to stop, have a 14 day break, eat some tasty foods and then start again.

    JodiLmonster: 10.8lbs in 17 days is well over the .5 lb per day that women lose on average. (Are you a woman?) The body has to catch up with itself every so often and needs a few days to do this. You’re sure to start losing again in a day or two!

    JessicaJames; the Mediral drops that I have are the Detox drops and come in 1 oz bottles. I got them from changesforlife.net for $18 a bottle. They also do a 2oz bottle of another brand which is supposed to work as well, if not better, than the Mediral drops. These cost $27.

    Clevergirl, as a former WW member here, i will say you probably will have no desire to go back to ww eating in p3. If you do this correctly, you will be able to eat alot more calories and nutritious food in general than WW permits. I started reading the boxes of the smartones meals and was shocked at all the chemicals, preservatives and artificial everything that was in them!!!! You are cleansing your system on this protocol, once you get that clean feeling, you won't want to go back!! Barb

    JessicaJames;

    My Mediral drops are called "Detox" but they are just plain hhcg. Mediral also do another variety of drops called "Weight-Loss Formula" which are the same hcg drops but have some other things added to it.

    The only other supplies that you need are chicken, fish, beef etc. plenty of fresh vegetables (those on the Dr. Simeons'protocol only!) apples, oranges, grapefruits and strawberries, grissini or melba toast (many people don't bother with these)and lots and lots of water. Some of the alternative versions of the protocol suggest that you do cleanses etc. but it really is just so simple!

    LVDieter- i do think it gets a bit tougher mentally in subsequent rounds. initially it's something new, and you're so excited about losing the weight quickly. i don't think you have quite the enthusiasm on other rounds.

    i'm in the middle of R4, and it was VERY tough for me to gear up for this- i'm coming up on a total of 100 vlcd's, and am just sick of the food options. but i have to say, once i was going again for about a week, it got easier.

    Mags - how many times do you take the drops each day and how many drops per does?

    Thanks!

    Mags, sublingual is pure hcg but supposedly there is no immunity issue with that either. So I don't know why it works that way. I worry about you only doing 2 weeks of P3 then going right back to P2. You're not getting a chance to stabilize at the new set point and it might make you carb sensitive when you are finally done losing if you do that very often.

    Hi Barb -- thanks for the input! Actually, I meant Phase 4 instead of Phase 3 (did I say P3? I probably did...) because that's when we reintroduce starches and sugars, right? When I was on WW I stuck mostly to "real" food rather than all the boxed stuff... and when I said "WW eating" I meant more in terms of portion control and tracking what I eat. (Do you think that's a bad idea?)

    You're definitely right about one thing: Now that my system is "clean," I don't want to pollute it with all those chemicals and crap again... well, except for a brownie now and then. :)
