I'm on P2 day 7 and am STARVING. I'm really enduring as I have several health problems already that require me to be extremely diligent about my diet and have for almost 20 years. I have Candida Albicans that is systemic, firbromyalgia and chronic fatigue. I did a 3 month cleanse as Kevin suggested a year ago but started the HCG injections 8 days ago. Unfortunately the Candida is causing really terrible symptoms already, severe vaginal burning is the one that is the most painful. My skin is so dry that I'm bleeding. I have been using some aloe vera products but not much help. I am so hungry that I cheated and had a whole grapefruit between lunch and dinner. I am only somewhat satisfied 30 to 40 minutes after I eat and then starving again. Something must be wrong. I'm wondering about my HCG amounts. I struggled with the mixing part for almost 10 days. My math skills are poor and I eventually used the mix and injection amount that was the most talked about on Utube. I still don't understand how much I'm taking. My ampule is 5000IU and I mixed 5 IU of bact. H20 and in a 29 gauge needle I fill it to the 25. How much am I taking and is that amount making me hungry? I have lost 1 lb per day but cant go on like this. Help!
kelly- yes, you're taking too much- 250 units- and this can cause reverse effects. drop back to .2 on your syringe, or even .175. don't eat the melba toast or grissini, and i think i'd try eating a 2nd vegetable and dropping the fruit if your candida is that bad. or drop the fruit and add an equivalent number of calories to your protein for that day. if you cheat, fruit is the LAST thing you should cheat with, due to the higher sugar content- it is sugar that feeds the yeast.
also, did you mix right before you started? if your needle a full cc needle, or 1/2cc? if it's full cc needle, fill as i mentioned above.
did you load well? if not, you will be hungry the first week.
Margie- do you mean the syringe diameter or the length of the needle. On the syringe some have 1cc and some have 1/2. What number on the syringe is .2? Is it 20? What number on the syringe is .175? I did mix it fresh and then did my first injection and keep it cold even when I'm traveling as I'm a flight attendant. When the Bast. H20 water went into the bottle it shot in there. Did I do anything to damage the powder by adding the B. h20 fast. I bought the high purity Hcg that is supposed to be more stable. I'm not eating the grissino or the Melba toast, I was too afraid. I'm going to have to take pro biotics tonite as I will not be able to go on with the Candida symptoms. I normally make my own Kefir and that keeps the Candida at bay but not on the diet so I will take Garden of Life HSO because they are so potent and because it is veggie derived. Ill take your suggestion for the extra veggies and protein. I have eaten that way most of the time. I didn't think I could change any of the foods because of the chemical reaction stated in Kevin's book. I think that will get me thru the rest of p2. Many thanks Margie
you do need to add the water slowly, and make sure you roll the bottle to mix it, don't shake it. it's ok to skip the fruit- KT says not to, but Dr. S. says it's ok. there's a gal in utah who has done that all along, and has lost about what i have. so don't worry about that. i would not change the type of foods allowed, though- that's what they're talking about in the protocol/book. in other words, eat different veggies.
whatever your dose is, just take 4/5th's of it- that's the point. so if your syringe is now at 25, fill it only to 20. you're taking 250, and you want to drop it to 200 or less. we're talking the syringe here- the needle length has nothing to do with it. i'd also stay on the probiotics the entire time- that should not hurt you.
did you eat a lot of sugar before? if so your body is going to really demand sugar, and that will feel like hunger- sugar is what makes the yeast grow.
You can take probiotics all the way through the protocol. I did. I've had candida issues too. Fibromyalgia is easily cured with natural thyroid. You gradually up the dose until the pain goes away. It so aggravates me that doctors are ignorant about this. Synthroid doesn't work though. It has to be a dessicated thyroid product liked Westhroid or Naturethroid. Armour has been reformulated and many have problems with it now. you don't go on blood tests, only on clinical symptoms. Taking progesterone will help balance you back out too.
The candida die-off will get better and you'll feel great very soon. You're depriving the yeast of its food. Colleen
Kelly girl--Wow, your posted health conditions sound like me! I also had Candida Albicans, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Plus I have no thyroid. I have watched my health deteriorate (and my weight rise despite dedicated diet & exercise) over these past years. I started the diet 8/29 and was STARVING the first 2 weeks, even after I had my hcg adjusted. But I found a lot of good advice on this site that helped me get through when I felt like quitting (like combining my lunch protein, vegetable & fruit snack then splitting between breakfrast & lunch--since I get up at 5, it was hard to go until 11:30 with no food and seemed to set me up to be starving all day! Pick the veggies with the most bulk and least calories to feel full, such as a big leafy salad with chicken, orange pieces and vinegar/herb dressing). I also started taking probiotics, changed from synthroid to Naturethroid, and had bioidentical hormone replacement pellets inserted about 3 weeks ago (I'm so thankful I found a doctor, who's an osteopath, that thinks outside the same old medical box). I am happy to be 15 lbs down, have no more hot flashes, my yeast problem is GONE, and my whole body aches are much better! My sugars and cholesterol are back within normal range (whew), and I'm getting some stamina back (I'm sure that will increase when I get onto p3 & p4)! I'm putting up with the dry skin (and lips and cuticles, etc.) by using mineral oil when I get out of the shower. It made absolutely no difference in my weight loss progress (I've tested it twice). mgsondance and grammy1952 are wonderful, authoritative, resources (and great cheerleaders). They and others on this site will help you through. Don't give up--a few really tough weeks can make a difference in your whole life!
Wow, good for you, Dide! I've seen that pellet protocol. There's a doctor in Phoenix who does it and I've thought about checking it out. It sounds very cool! The one in Phoenix even does the thyroid that way so your body uses what it needs. Isn't it great to feel well again? Colleen
This doc (here in Cincinnati) had a clinic in my chiropractor's office that was always packed to capacity (with both men and women). I had seen ads for BHRT (the hormones), but heard stories about the creams being messy and causing rashes. After almost a year of hot flashes and night sweats, I picked up one of his pamphlets and researched the pellet method, then decided to do it. The blood test was the worst part--the insertion was easy and cost really wasn't so bad (certainly worth better health). And the thyroid med change was an added bonus! I'd been trying to talk to my regular doc for years about taking both T3 & T4, but he wouldn't have any of it (although he had no trouble diagnosing me with a pre-metabolic syndrome, telling me to lose weight, and providing no help when I said I wasn't able). This new doc was happy to let me try the Naturethroid, inserted the pellets, and got me started on the hcg protocol. What a blessing! I'll be sure to ask him at next visit about the pellet--that would be even better! Thanks for the info!
