This thread will attempt to address several questions many folks have when they are new to the weight loss protocol. I am going to separate the discussion into 3 parts:

Part I How much HCG do I need to buy, and what do I need to buy with the HCG to mix it.

Part II How do I mix my HCG in a sterile and safe manner

Part III Storing and injecting tips and tricks

Please note, this thread is not intended as a substitute for medical advice from your doctor or licensed health care practitioner. It is simply based on the advice and experience of forum members.

Part I How much HCG do I need to buy??

You have probably heard how HCG is packaged in vials as a freeze dried powder. The doseages available are 2000 iu (international units), 5000 iu, and 10,000 iu per vial. Generally, unless you are going to share the vial with several people, you want to buy either the 2000 iu or the 5000 iu. The reason for not buying the 10,000 iu vial is the HCG will lose its potency or effectiveness after 15 days or so. Imagine an orange in your fridge. It was freshest just after picking, and gradually deteriorates each day thereafter. HCG is very similiar. It is a hormone that has a shelf life of about a year in powdered form (check the expiration date on the vial ) but immediatley begins to deteriorate the moment you reconstitute (mix) it with bacteriostatic water.

The math for how long a 5000 iu or a 2000 iu vial will last is as follows:

    # of units in vial divided by dose you wish to take equals number of doses in that vial.

Note that the dilution you use (# of cc's of bacteriostatic water added to the HCG) will NOT change the number of doses. The dilution will only change the volume, or amount of liquid you inject in each injection. More on that in a minute.

To make it easy, I have done the math for 5000 iu and 2000 iu vials. Just select your vial size below, then select the dose you are electing to take and that will tell you the number of injections you will have.

    5000 iu

    Dose //// # of injections

    150 iu ---- 33 + alittle
    175 iu ---- 28 + alittle
    200 iu ---- 25

    2000 iu

    Dose //// # of injections

    150 iu ---- 13 + alittle
    175 iu ---- 11 + alittle
    200 iu ---- 10

Again, let me emphasize that this calculation has nothing to do with the VOLUME of your injection. It just tells you how many DOSES you should expect from each size of vial.

And remember my analogy about the orange. You probably do not want to use HCG that is older than 15 days. It will still work, just not as well. That is why you should choose your vial size carefully. If you are doing the protocol with a spouse or friend, go ahead and order the 5000 iu. If doing it by yourself, many on the forum recommend the smaller 2000 iu vials.

What do I buy with the HCG??

You can either order your supplies in a preassembled kit, or buy them separately.

Internet sites for supplies include but are not limited to:
    GPZservices.com
    Cheaphcgsupplies.com
    Hcgsupplies.com
    Whenhealthmatters.com

The latter 2 sites sell complete kits which cost a bit more but are very convenient for the first time HCG dieter. The first 2 sites sell items individually, enabling you to assemble your own kit, usually for less money. If you want to buy items individually but are not sure what to buy, go to one of the last 2 sites listed and write down the items they include in their kits. :))

I bought my hcg and kit from mikkydee the Grand Pubah. He answered alot my questions and was very helpful. He sells the kits and the hcg together at a good price. his sight is www.gphcg.com
Do the other sites do this as well? I mean answer questions about the diet and sell the kits too?
Just curious. I had trouble finding the hcg on whenhealthmatters site. I was going to compare the prices with what I got. I will check the other sites too.
I think there are several good suppliers out there and we have to give feedback on our experiences or nobody knows about how their service and products rate from actual experiences.

    Hi!

I have a question about injecting sub-q. What happens if air bubbles are injected?

    Thanks!
    Michelle

tiny ones are ok. it would have to be large, and get into a blood vessel to cause a problem.

There is actually a medical test we do in the cardiac cath lab to look for a septal defect between the chambers of the heart...it involves injecting about 1 cc of air into a vein, creating bubbles on purpose....causes no harm. If you inject into a artery, it can be more trouble. It takes several cc of air into a vein to cause an adult any issues....children are different.

So the short answer to your question michellebelle....your sub q fat will burp. :))))

Dick, actually since I wrote this thread in October, several of our forum members have started businesses selling kits, and hcg. You are correct, I need to update this thread accordingly. Thank you!! :))

    Thanks mgsondance and ILuvKats!!

I am so confused about the mixing instructions. I've read several mixing instructions and they vary by adding air into vials and using 25cc versus 10cc of bac water.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I read the mixing syringe? It has two sets of numbers on them. Which ones to I use?

    Oh, btw, I'm doing a 5000 vial for 25 or so 200 sub-q injections.

    Any help!!!!
    Thanks!
    Michelle
