That sounds about like where I am, Iluvkatz. When you say eat very cleanly the next day, are you saying no starchy stuff the following day, or extra water, or protein, or what do you mean by that? Because thats kind of the delicate balance Im trying to find, being able to do something moderately, and maybe making a slight adjustment to accommodate it, rather than, ok, now its time to do a steak day. The whole steak day notion is what Im trying to avoid. Not that I won't do it, Id like to not HAVE to do it.

Eating cleanly is a term used on another forum, it means basically p3 style eating...no sugar or carbs. I have found I don't really need steak days. If I am up say 3 pounds, I just eat very high protein, no fruit or starch, and the 3 pounds come off the next day. I am up right now because of TOM..but I know that when it is over, I will go back down again. I am getting a little less stressed out about the little fluctuations. I just watch them by weighing daily, and adjust my food intake accordingly.

If you cant get past the wang in stevia try Truvia--it is stevia but just the sweet part of the leaf and you dont get the wang so it is much much better. You can get it at walmart--green and white box with strawberry on it. Love it! I never could get past the aftertaste of regular stevia also. On my fist round I stabilized quickly and even when I added other foods, pasta, bread, etc was still mainitaining LIW without problems, just havent done P4 long term yet to give lot of input. In 3rd round of P3 and will do P3, P4 til beginning of next year when I should be starting last round of P2. I like P3 eating with occasional treats added in.

am on day 30 of P4 and maintaining well. agree with Barb bout the protein. My weight goes up and down but stays within the 2 pound range. I f I get close to the top of the 2 pound range I will eat lots of protein and it bounces right back down. i eat whatever i feel like, within reason. I use the 80/20 rule....kinda made it up myself. I eat 80 % of the right, good foods, and allow myself 20% of the 'bad' foods. Keeps my cravings in check, don't ever feel deprived, and the weight cooperates. Good Luck to all.

I like your 80/20 rule. Thats a good way to imagine every meal. I think I will do 90/10, but will try to visualize that ratio with every meal. Also, another thing Ive learned is to eat and drink the bulk of my food and liquid before 7 pm. Whether it really contributes to weight gain or just appears as water weight on the scale in the morning, I dont care. I like to be as consistent as possible, and one common thread Im seeing with everyone here, as well as in other diet models is QUIT EATING LATE. Thats one thing Ive never in my life followed, and think that its time.

Thank you for starting this!! I start P4 tomorrow. I have stabilized pretty good in P3, but kinda nervous starting P4. I can't wait to get back on P2!! I think I will do what Colleen has suggested and start with oatmeal in the morning. Good luck to everyone!!

I only see a gram difference in agave nectar vs. honey. Is there any reason why honey isnt an acceptable sweetener, or is agave nectar just a preference? I had previously read that the body processes honey just like sugar. Any different than Agave nectar?
