did anyone try the low carb high fiber flatbreads? You can crisp them up in the oven and make pizza out of them or cut them up for a good replacment for chips to dip in salsa? I have had really good luck with them. Victoria
Gained from the 0 carb burger bun;( Im so sad because I was so excited about it...oh well more time I guess! Barb I have seen a haystacks recipe I think or just read about them on here somewhere I heard they're awesome, its like a chocolate coconut ball type cookie but needs no baking, had some from the sugar free candy store awhile back but wanted to make my own and know exactly what I'm eating. Well did HIGH protein today hoping I lost the weight gained from the evil low carb burger bun.
Lost a little but cant seem to get back down to LIW, everytime I try a starch I gain again ;( can't seem to figure out p4. Will I stay starch intolerant now 4ever? I don't want to cut put the starch completely but I can't lose unless I eat only protein and if I do that I gain as soon as I add a starch again so whats the point in losing it if it comes right back again ;( Susie
Susie, how did your high protein day go? Wait a week and try the buns again. Pretty much anything new makes me retain water the first time I try it...but if I try it again I can usually do it. You may also have a food sensitivity, but it is too soon to jump to that conclusion...just give it more time.
Those hay stack thingys sound tasty!! I am not a big desert eater, but when i do splurge, I want chocolate. LOL!!!
I lost a pound on the protein day but like I said I gain it right back soon as I add a starch next day...so what to do? I'm trying to be stubborn and not let go of starches but I don't wanna keep gaining either. The only starch I had yesterday was a high protein no flour cookie I ordered from lowcarbyou.com so maybe its that and ezekiel bread is only other starch I've been having lately. So should I stop that for awhile and see what happens? I love toast and peanutbutter for breakfast;( but if its a problem i'll cut it out for awhile. I LOVE chocolate anything too;) gonna make those haystacks soon as I get ingredients. Susie
Susie, try an alternative bread. I'm guessing you have a wheat/gluten allergy. That's why Ezekiel bread works. It' has legumes in it and helps those of us lacking the enzyme to digest it. Try some alternate stuff from a health food store. Colleen
Irish, I missed your post from a few days ago...I think you are fine..you are trying to maintain at your last VLCD weight, not your LIW...most of us can't do that. I know some can, but the majority can't. You are within 2 pounds of LIW, and that is just hunky dory!!!
Susie, I think your body is also telling you that what you are using as your LIW is not to be this round. Many stabilize with carbs at a couple or 3 pounds over LIW...and do just fine. It is sort of a bargaining thing between your will and your body's will. It gave you several pounds of weight loss, now it wants just 3 or so pounds back. I am willing to give it the 3 if it gives me the remaining 10 or 12 from the p2 round!! I also wonder if for some of us, the last weight we lose is fromt the normal fat reserves, since we seem to gain it back so quickly. Just my thoughts. Anyhoo, don't beat yourself up over a couple of pounds. Look at the big picture and move forward. I know you are afraid a couple of pounds will turn into 8 to 10, but from info on here, it doesn't seem to work that way. So, hang in there....relax...it will be OK.. :))
