I never work out.... R1P2, I did for 28 days and lost 12 lbs. No working out at all. Gained it all back bc I was careless in P3
R2P2, I am on my VLCD 7 and I have lost 8 lbs. I also started running. I downloaded an application on my iphone called C25K, Couch to 5 Killometers and it puts you on a running course. Being that I have never done it in my life, I do one day or running and one day off. SO, my opinion is that cardio is working for me. I have weight myself before and after the run and in every instance, I lost another pound after running. I'm not complaining :-)
If i keep losing the weight at this rate, I will go from 152.5 to 125lbs in 27 days instead of 40 days :-)
You really should have a portion of your protein "after" you work out, whether it is dancing, walking whatever. It helps rebuild the muscles and keeps the weakness at bay.
i walk in p2 at a speed between 3.5-4.0 mph at an incline set to level 4 and walk anywhere between 20-30 min for 6 days out of the week. i have never gained. in fact, i have lost more than on the days i dont. im guessing every body reacts different. to some a little exercise boosts the rate at which they lose and to others it may be too much to handle. try increasing your water consumption a little, maybe that will help with the fluctuations.
About two years ago, I learned that there's a really, really good reason for why fat people don't jog. I popped both my knees out. I've healed completely since then, but the memory of that kind of intense hurt comes rushing right up to my forefront of the mind just thinking about it. Still, I did want to do some mild-to-moderate form of exercise when I started this. So, my self-torture of choice is swimming. It exercises pretty much everything at once and is much, much easier on the old-lady knees.
Yoga is recomended in the Trudeau version of this diet. It will help get your heart rate up there and it is very low impact. Water workouts are awesome too.
I've had to do water workouts for my ankle and I'm always amazed at 2 things. 1, how much cardio I am actually doing just by walking against the water and 2, how dehydrated i get.
