65 pounds in TWO rounds?!! You rock, Ellie! Good for you! I bet you are looking fabo. :-) You ought to see about getting off synthroid and onto a natural thyroid or at the very least more cytomel and less synthroid. You'll feel better.

Oh Grammy, so not true. Yes, people produce less hydrochloric acid as they get older, but 94% of Americans don't have enough due to diets and lifestyles today. It is what sets the stage for so many other digestive difficulties.

Just parroting what my naturopath tells me. :-) It's unusual that someone in their 20s is low in hydrochloric acid (and think Ellie is young). It's usually other problems like allergies. That was true with my daughter and other young 'uns I've seen with stomach problems. Enzymes help but the acid often makes it worse. At least in the ones I've seen personally. :-)

Hydrochloric acid makes me sick, I just didn't realize that they were in this degestive enzyme.
Hee Colleen, thanks, I am 44. But I do have a four year old, that is why it has been priceless that I have gotten all of this weight off. I can run around much easier now, not so tired. Feel much more balanced. Tha't probably why they put the stuff in digestive enzymes, most people can probably tolerate it, but no me.

Yes, I have been cutting back on the meds and had a blood test and didn't hear back so I guess everythings ok.

    Thanks,
    Ellie

I believe hydrocloric acid is the same thing as clorine bleach....yes, I believe I would not feel so peachy on that either.

If it makes you feel sick then yes, you might not need it. If it causes a burning sensation about 20-30 minutes after taking, that is a sign of gastric inflammation or lesions that need healing.

Lis, hydrochloric acid is stomach acid, which is essential for digesting protein and absorbing various nutrients, including calcium, iron and B vitamins.

It doesn't make sense to take HCl with enzymes, bc the HCl will negate the effect of the enzymes. Better to take your enzymes at the start of your meal and HCl toward the end.

I'm all mixed up. I thought the stomach acid was Sulfuric acid.

i have low stomach acid (common for people with type A blood)- my doc has me take betaine with my first bite of food (hcl) and then enzymes at the end (similase). for a while she had me taking pancreatin at the end, but it made me nauseous.

ellie- perhaps you could use something like a papaya formula?

Yes that's a good idea Margie, I also have some plant enzymes, I dumped my other enzymes right in the garbage, that's what makes me sick the betaine hcl, yuck!!!! My body just doesn't need it.
I have to be careful because it gets added in enzymes and if I don't pay attention I buy them just to have my stomach turn.
I'll be doing around 6 or 7 more days of r2, and then going off to phase 3.
My scale just broke so the weight loss will be a surprise!!
Last time I came off the HCG I was afraid of depression because the HCg definately makes me feel better, but I successfuly transitioned, I hope to do so again, and by the wayyyyy, I can't wait until the brothers family sees me!!
I've been keeping this a secret! ha.....
