I've been very concerned about the rash of folks on the forum with hunger, weakness and inability to think. Folks, Dr. S is very clear that it's UNCOMMON to have hunger past 3 days, and most don't even have that! And I was rereading the Trudeau book last night and he also mentions the hunger and weakness issue. He says it can happen once in a while but it is RARE. By far the most common reaction is a feeling of well being, no hunger, good energy, reshaping of the body. I'm not sure what is going on but I'm worried about those of you who are experiencing this. If you're not getting good hcg, or not getting the proper dose, you are not resetting your hypothalamus. The fact you are losing weight means nothing. All the studies show that the 500 calorie diet will result in a weight loss. The difference is that with hcg the fat is coming from abnormal fat stores with no hunger. Without hcg, the dieter is losing normal fat, is crabby, fatigued, hungry and weak.

I'm very worried about it. After having a bad batch myself, I realized just how marked the difference is. I'm thankful I had 2 successful rounds under my belt before I had that batch or I would have thought that weakness and hunger was normal. It is not! Make sure you follow the protocol and load by eating frequently of fattening food.

So if you're on homeopathic, up your dose until you are not hungry and have that great sense of well-being. If you are on RX grade, evaluate your dose, remix of necessary. But figure out out! It is crucial. What good does it do to lose the weight then regain it because you didn't reset your hypothalamus?

colleen- here's what i suspect- that we don't respond the way that they did in Dr. S's day because of all the CRAP we've put into our bodies for years and years. there was very little processed food back then, especially in europe. we didn't consume anywhere near the sugar and chemicals that we do now, they didn't use pesticides as much, the soil still had nutrition in it, people were healthier in general even if they were overweight, etc., etc.

you say that you've eaten "clean" for a number of years, and i'm guessing that is a big part of why you do so well. kind of makes us all re-think KT's phase one, doesn't it?

i used to eat a lot of crap, but i had cut out the vast majority of it for a good month before i started hcg- and i think even doing that had to have had a positive effect.

I'm not convinced that hunger is rare. I suffered with it through my first round, and I'm dealing with it during this round. I am getting to where I can tolerate it, but it's always a stress on my mind. My dad and I went through a clinic the first time, and we mixed our own this 2nd round. We have both dealt with hunger issues. My friend has done 3 rounds, and he said he felt hunger too. To me, the idea that people have no hunger while on the hCG is a fairy tale. I'll believe it when I feel it.

i also think that it's common. the big question i guess is why it's common. i think people interpret their degree of hunger differently as well, just as i commonly see in terms of tolerance to pain.

I really, really had no hunger my first round. I did not even smell food and it was difficult for me to eat at all, I had to make myself most of the time. I expected the same thing this time around and really don't understand what the cause is.

Trudeau mentions the crap we eat and just says sometimes because of it a higher dose is required. But he still says the hunger is rare. None of my friends on it (up to 12 now) have experienced hunger except for my chiropractor's wife on her 2nd batch after 2 weeks when she had a bad batch. I'm very concerned about this issue. Everything I've read and experienced says it should not be happening. Mild hunger is one thing. The gnawing hunger and weakness a lot of people seem to be experiencing is another.

You need to up your dose, Russ.

I am already at a dose of .175, so I'm pretty high already. At least I don't have headaches like I did in the beginning. I have a sort of icy prickly feeling in my gut a lot of the time. My hunger could be a lot worse, but I can't imagine ever forgetting to eat. The next meal is always present in my mind. I get cold easily, and sometimes find it difficult to concentrate because of the physical distractions. I had no trouble stabilizing on the last round, so I hope that will be true again.

That's how I was feeling this morning. When I decide to add a load day I ate everything in site. The funny thing was after I injected a little more hcg, the hunger calmed down. that's what made me ask the question about splitting the dosage.

My body loved the accidental 240iu dose. when I say no hunger & I couldn't eat, I mean it. I felt great! that is why I had to do this third day. ugh
