Hi Miriam, it sure takes patience to read this entire thread!

You haven't blown the diet yet. You can get back on track. It is hard when you're cooking for the family.
This diet is different than others because you lose weight so fast, so you don't have to diet so long. But it does demand that you stick to the 500 calories to do that. Come here for support, no need to be sad.

I wouldn't worry about seeing the doctor at your clinic. I'm in Phoenix, and I've never seen the one at my clinic, only the Nurse Practitioner. Most people on this forum have found that doctors don't know half as much about the diet as the people here who have actually gone through it. We are amazed that some of these medical professionals seem to never have read Pounds and Inches, the original protocol by Dr. Simeons.

How much do you want to lose total? 12 lbs. since March 5th is great.
So don't think you are in this alone. We're here for you. You can do it!!

Hi Miriam - ya i see her. She is my primary care doctor and I am not just seeing her for weight loss. Don't give up youre doing really well! I keep telling myself that this is just for a little while and not for the rest of my life. Sort of my new mantra and it seems to help.

I am down 13.6 now! I couldn't be happier with the loss.

I have to tell you though I am pretty much refusing to cook for my kids or husband (not that I was always cooking before) I have loaded up our freezer with some reasonably healthy meals in a bag and leaving it at that. My sister has cooked for them a couple of times and I did make a veggie soup that I could eat and they would like too but that is it. Doesn't that sound selfish? I don't feel selfish though. They are eating just fine and don't seem to be holding a grudge. Granted my kids are not small, if I had small kids I'd probably not have a choice but to cook. But I wouldn't have to cook big meals. I am getting a lot of support from my husband too and that makes a big difference.

I still want to lose it sometimes. I came home from work one day and my sister was making a big pasta dinner (my weakness) and it was really really tempting. I was soooo close to just going and checking into a hotel because I didn't want to be around it. I still think my sis might have been slightly passive aggressive by making the meal (did I mention it was my favorite?) I told her she was a terrorist (only half kidding) but it was OK because I was going to weigh less than her in a few days ;) and that pretty much solved that problem.

I think its pretty normal to struggle. If you've read the thread you've realized by now that I am trying to work on my feelings twords food and it isn't easy for me. But I am trying to keep a postive attitude and it helps. Not to mention that having my doc increase my dose a bit has made a world of difference as far as my energy level and hunger. Hang in there.

    Hi Miriam, welcome!

Beeliret, i'm so glad you are doing better on this new dose, also it's good that you are making the disctintion between real hunger and emotional eating, once you're over it, everything will be easier, you'll see.

I also need to vent, my DH has started a "diet" too (i use the term loosely as his version of diet contains alcohol, eclairs and occasional fast food) and has managed to drop 13 lbs in about 2 weeks. When i told him how strict i have to be with mine to drop the weight, his response was: " well yeah, i lose fast, but gain it back fast too", bless his heart, he was trying to make me feel better, however my respinse to this was "well, i lose sloooowwww and gain it back faster than you" which only made him laugh! now, don't take me wrong, he has been incredibly supportive through this whole thing, even to the point of using different utensils when we both grill our food, so as to not mix ingredients (i might have been a little anal about it but he still did it) and i love that he is taking this chance to also look better, but wouldn't you love to lose as easy as guys do?....ok, now that the rant is over i'll head out to buy him a gallon of high fat ice cream (says with a devilish gleem in her eyes and a smirk on her face) what? who said that? not me, never me!.....joking, joking, i will never do thatto him , i would just get him the regular-fat ice cream, hehe

I must confess though, the last couple of days i've been indulging in a flourless cake completely by protocol, and my sweet tooth has been thanking me profusely. I used someones recipe, can't recall whose, it is whipped egg whites mixed with sugarless vanilla exctract, whipped to stiff peaks, then folded this with cocoa and stevia, and baked the whole thing. OMG, a very nice chocolate sponge cake, and haven't gained an ounce from it!

And on that note, i must report today is an awesome day! i finally reached the 130's. Today weigh showed 139.0! i don't recall the last time i was this thin, maybe 10 years ago. In total i'm down 22.5 lbs, which puts me a little over 0.52 lbs lost per day. This diet is really great!
I only have 7 more days of releana before i go off to prepare for my trip. i wanted to be around 135 when i left but with TOM coming maybe tomorrow, i don't think it will happen.

Question, if my last drops will be on friday at around 8pm, will my LDW be the weight of saturday am? or the weight of that friday night?
    please let me know

    Have a nice day!

    Hi all,
I am retyping I am not sure why my comment didn't post.
I was 182Lbs now 170Lbs and 5-6" height. I have 2 very young kids and tall skinny husband that has never been on diet. they won't eat any vegi-soup or diet inspired food.he supports diet but not HCG and fast loosing. I try not to talk about the whole thing since he will start giving speech about all negative things and remind me all of my Yo-Yo diets since I gained weight.

    Beeliret,
That is very great you get your supply from your Doctor, my doctor that happens to be my husband close friend, believes 95% fast looser including HCG user gain it back. He believes 20-25 lbs per year is a good diet and life style changer.

    desertgirl
When I am paying lots of money to get my HCG I expect to see Doctor OR NURSE not only have their names, I may need to discuss increasing my dose since all day I am hungry, in bad mood, have headache and ...otherwise why should I pay that much money when I can buy my HCG from online vendors cheaper?

right now i had my lunch half an hour ago but i am very hungry, have headache and sort of hunger nausea.

Miriam, I agree with your comment about paying good money and expecting medical advice. But you say that your doctor is a family friend and does not really believe in this diet. Or are you talking about another doctor?

If you take a long time to type and post, it says there's a problem and doesn't post. Just hit "add your comments" again, and it will go through.

Miriam- where are you in OC?

There are places to get Releana all over the place you should find somewhere you'll get more support. If you're not getting support you have to give yourself support, does that make sense? Find another doctor or get a personal chef, feed the kids pb&j's or chicken nuggets rather than make a big dinner. Its OK to do what you have to do to make this work for you. I'd also look into increasing your dose if you can. It really made a difference for me and I am having an easier time being around food without being tempted as much now that I am feeling better.

As far as the doctor goes: Your doctor works for you and if you don't like the support youre getting fire him and get a new one. Don't pay good money to people who are not helping you succeed.

Im sorry your husband isn't more supportive. You can do this!

There's a medical spa in Newport Beach that used to be run by the woman who created Releana. It's called the Millenium Spa - they are run by NPs http://ocmedspa.com/. I have spoken to them and they are great. Also, you can't get Releana online - only hcg and, personally, I wouldn't want to do this if I didn't have a medical practitioner (doesn't matter to me if it's a dr) to talk to about it. And, no offense, your dr sounds like a really negative person who thinks in black and white. It's true that people do gain weight back and more but, only if they don't change their diet FOREVER. You can't do this protocol and then expect everything to be fine forever without modifying the way you eat.

If you an emotional eater, you will gain the weight back. This is not a cure all. For psycological eaters, you have to figure out why you eat and then fix it or you will continue to have weight issues despite the losses now because even though your metabolism gets reset, that doesn't mean you're going to stay within the amount of calories your body can handle. As of my last dr visit, I was told that I would be able to eat at most 1500/day as long as I work out. If I don't work out or eat more then, I will gain.

And, it's true, we probably know more than the drs do. I only go to my dr because I have to in order to get the Releana. We all have different bodies so, we all have different experiences. He is also prescribing my bio-identical hormore- progesterone and, even though he does this as part of his practice, I am not happy with the way he works. So, I have to find someone else. So, basically, even though he's a dr, that doesn't mean he knows more than a NP would know or even more than I know about certain things. Releana has not been studied enough for anyone to be a real authority on it. I spoke with the people at Releana and they told me that their study was done with 100 people which is not very much at all. So, again, you have to pay for a drs visit in order to get the product. As far as I'm concerned, seeing the dr is just procedure....but, that's just my opinion.

miriam, how are you with your water intake? i know it doesn't solve the hunger, but your tummy might feel better, maybe some tea if you are getting tired of water? i know i have to mix it up and too much water makes me nauseous.
I've also been getting B12/B6/B5 shots to help the hunger and energy level, Are you getting anything like that?

also, have you tried to explain to your hubby the science behind hcg? i did it with mine and it helped. Also, i mentioned to him this forum and how many people here are able to mantain the weight off, so he doesn't think is a "trendy" diet. Also i think once i went all scientific and mentioned things like hypothalamus and 3 different types of fats, i lost him and before admitting that it was over his head, he just said great! hehe

way to go beeliret!!! we are on the same boat! i just hope i won't gain a lot during my vacation, my mom keeps calling me to tell me of all the places she wants to take me to eat, i haven't told her about the diet, as she just saw me on december and wanted to keep it as a surprise for when she sees me, she better notice the 20+lb difference, hahaha

I am starting the drops next saturday and sunday (these will be my loading days) because I am currently on a 2 week detox program. I am currently going through a medical weight loss clinic that is awesome. I cant wait to start my drops and lose inches and lbs. I am 24, 5'6 and 170 lbs (was 174 but lost 4 lbs last week from detox). I am supposed to take 11 drops once a day for 40 days. My diet coach said usually people lose around 25-30 lbs in the first round. I only need to lose 30lbs so hopefully i will only have to do this once. My dosage is 10,000 IU I received it from a pharmacy (dr prescribed). I also have a concern about the smell. My drops have a very strong alcohol smell. does this mean that they are true HCG drops (I would hope so since they are an RX from my Dr. Through all the forum posts i havent heard anyone saying how their drops tasted. Any adive will help. thanks.
