I'll have some strawberries alittle later just don't think I should eat again so soon!

also no stall from the eggbeater down .6 today...there is also just the plain eggwhite available in a carton but I had these so I thought I would use them up....

I forgot how fun it can be to cook and come up with different recipes now if I could just find someone to clean up!!

dgg - you shouldn't be hungry on P3, no matter what you used during P2. P3 is for eating a regular diet, just no sugar and no starch. Normal portions, no counting calories, just eating.

went to the dr. Friday... lost 6% body fat and 11 lbs (day 19). I'm not sure how body fat is rated... does anyone know what's a good amount to lose?

ome- what was your starting weight? 6% is almost impossible, in that short a time. what method did they use to check it? perhaps he's looking at something other than your total BF percentage? are you exercising a lot?

for example, i'll just pull a number out of my hat and say you were 180# and 40% fat to start with (which is high). that would mean you had 108# (180x 60%) of lean body mass (everything but fat- bones, muscle, etc.). if you lost 11# and 6% that would make you 169#, and 34% fat. that would give you 111.5# of lean body mass, which would mean not only would you have not lost muscle (which you'll do, even with the hcg) but would have gained 3.5# of muscle mass.

if you started at 160 and were 35% fat, you would have started with 104# of lbm. with a loss of 11# and 6% it would put your lbm at 105.8#- again, higher.

if you were 220# and 50% fat, your lbm would have started at 110#, and would now be at 117, which would be pretty much impossible.

a normal body fat percentage for women is roughly 24% of your weight- or a little lower if you're younger, a little higher if you're older. my body fat percentage has come down about 13%, but it has taken me losing 93# to do that. Generally with diet alone and no exercise, the average is to lose about 30% muscle- which is right where i'm at. Since i'm extremely inactive due to my health, I figure that is better than i would have done on a low-cal diet without the hcg.

I was 155 lbs and 38% body fat. She is using the scale that you hold onto the metal handles that measures body weight, fat and muscle... I am now 144 and my total body fat % said 32. I am working out (pilates) and haven't had to lower the weights during the hcg. Maybe I'm mistaken, but that's what the print out said...

either way... I went from size 31 jeans back to my 28's... so whatever I am, I'm lovin' it.

so at 155 and 38%, you had 96# of lbm. at 144 and 32%, you have 98# of lbm. if you're working out that's possible, but since you were working out before it's not real likely. but it also means you're probably not losing much muscle, which is excellent.

that type of analyzer is electrical impedence- a mild current goes from one hand, through the body, to the other hand. it is also highly dependent on how hydrated you are. if you're drinking a lot more water now than what is normal for you, that's probably responsible for a lot of the difference. they're also very inconsistent from one time to the next- i can check myself at night, and be as much as 1.5% different in the morning. the time of day makes a difference, too, since you're more hydrated later in the day that you are in the morning.

either way, it sounds like you're doing great! if you want to track it yourself, you can get a handheld unit by omron at amazon for about $26.

I go to the dr. at the same time of day each time... but I do notice that I'm a few lbs lighter in the am on my scale (which although it's telling me something better in the lbs arena, I don't trust it as much as her's...)

I am drinking WAY more water than I was before and eating a lot better (I'm a peanut butter queen)... so I'm not sure, but I'll check and ask her on Friday..

just so you know it can vary- so you're not discouraged if the percentage varies from time to time. mine even varies as i do it- so i usually check it several times and take an average. her analyzer i'm sure is a higher quality one than my handheld- but none of them are accurate. the only accurate ways are very expensive- underwater weighing, dexa scan, or bod pod. Here is some online info about impedance:

Using Home Body Fat Scales to Measure Body Fat

Body fat scales claim to measure body fat quickly and conveniently. These body fat scales use the Bioelectrical Impedance method to measure your body fat percentage. A low-level electrical current is passed through your body and the "impedance", or opposition to the flow of current, is measured. The result is used in conjunction with your weight and other factors to determine your body fat percentage. Unfortunately, your body's "impedance level" can be altered by many factors besides body fat. For instance, the amount of water in your body, your skin temperature and recent physical activity can all adversely affect the results. So only by following strict rules can you hope to get an accurate measurement of your body fat using these scales. The most important rules to observe in order to make a more accurate calculation of your body fat are:

    * Don't eat or drink for 4 hours before the body fat measurement test.
    * Don't exercise for 12 hours before the test.
    * Some studies have shown variances as high as 8 percent when using the bioelectrical impedance method even if the rules are precisely followed.

Omegagirl, You are doing great jusat keep up the good work I can't remember what your goal was.... I saw the pilates stretching machine at a health fair looks like great toning and stretching I was going to look in to it after I reach goal, but may start a lite work out next month... If your Dr has the scale to measure your stats then you don't ned to get one unless you want it my dr also has the same scale I go at 8:30 every friday morning...Are you getting the B-12 shot as well? I really like the shot I was getting them before the Releana loved all the energy for the weekend

Body % can be anywhere from 18 to 24 % depending on how athletic you are.... Marathon runners normally have a low BMI check with your Dr to determine where you should be... Weight later in the day will always be a little different from your 1st thing in the morning you will have eaten and drank water plus clothes..It all averages out use the weight you feel most comfortable with... i find that my dr.s scale is about .2 different than mine I weigh just before I leave with clothes and the clinic is 5 mins away...

your inches lost are terrific.. I like what the pilates is helping you do

    btw where are you from?
