Hello all. I'm new to this community but I have spent several days looking over the forums to answer most of the question I've had; however, there is one in particular I'm not sure about.

I'd like to start the injections this Tuesday but it seems as if they will conflict with upcoming events - holidays. I'll finish a 26 day round on December 15, but I'll be gone December 23 - 27 to spend time with family where I'll more than likely have to eat a ton (grandparents do not take no for an answer, ever). So I'm a little afraid I'll screw everything up if I eat too much during the three week stabilization phase. I know no sweets or starches but will I be okay with other things?

I tend to over-think things so I'm sorry if this post is a little confusing. Any advice and tips will be greatly appreciated.

britt- this is a tough time of year to start- but if you did a 23-day round (plus the 3 last vlcd's) you'd start P3 on dec 13th. that would give you 2 weeks on P3 before being out of town. you still should not eat any sugar/starch, but during your third week of P3 you'd probably get away with a bite here or there if you had to to that to keep the family happy. it really depends on the feasibility of you following the P3 rules then- if you know you'd end up eating sugar and starch, i'd wait and start when you get back. if you're ok with refusing those things, i think you'd be fine.

britt - I'm in the same position and have decided to wait until after New Year's Eve. I want to do everything I can to set myself to succeed and I know that holiday eating will get the better of me. My doctor and several others agree with my decision because I based it on what I know about myself. If the holidays don't normally see you over-eating or giving in to temptation, then I don't think you will have any trouble. Regardless of when you decide to begin, you will have plenty of people supporting you on this site! :-)

mgsondance, bernice0590 - I believe I'll be okay with the sugar/starch thing. I love pasta and sweets but I'd also LOVE to lose weight. Plus, I figure I can treat myself to nice food on Christmas AND new clothes if I follow the protocol to a tee, which is a win-win in my situation. My family can be stubborn but so can I. :) I'm just afraid if I cheat a little bit by accident at the end I'll ruin everything. I'm a worrywart like that though, but I think I'll be okay.

I'm really glad there is such a supportive community here. :)

britt - I have decided to wait until after New Years. The 40 days after New Years is a slow time for me. The holidays are just to tempting and I just don't think I have the will power.
