I am doing great in general on the program and down 7lbs in the first 8 VLCD days. I am finding my mornings to be the hardest. I have started to add one boiled egg white for breakfast which helps some, but my difficult period is from ~8am-11am. After 11am or lunch time I am good the rest of the day. Just curious if there is something with my timing of eating or my dosage/injection time.

Here is a generic day for me:
Breakfast: Tea or Coffee and sometimes an egg white
    Snack: Apple or berries
    Lunch: Grilled Chicken and salad
    Snack: Skip or Apple
    Dinner: Fish/Chicken/Eggbeaters and veggie

I normally take my injection around 6:30-7pm about 1/2 hour after I get up. Should I be taking it immediately after I get up or should I evalute changing dosage? I think I am on the 200 from what I have read. Not sure as they mixed it and I take .20cc in the insulin needles.

Appreciate any suggestions or ideas. Worse case I can ride it out as I only have 2 weeks to go and I am happy enough with the results to push through the morning hours.

I can't get through the morning without something bc i'm pretty hypoglycemic. I've been doing a protein shake, which is totally off protocol, but i've still lost well and it helps shore me for the rest of the morning.

smc- i'd try having a large apple in the morning and see if you can make it through without a snack (if you can't, take the egg white then). the fiber in the apple should fill you up and make it easier to make it to lunch- also helps to jump-start your metabolism for the day. looks like you're not eating the breadsticks? you could use them for snacks as well. or bring something like celery with you- a little extra of something like that is not going to hurt you.

I eat an apple for breakfast too. if you aren't eating breadsticks, I wouldn't add them though. Trudeau does away with them and I think it's a great time to go gluten free and see how you feel in P2. You lose better without them. A gluten sensitivity is a problem many people have and don't realize it. It contributes to arthritis, autoimmune disease and obesity.

I find it much easier if I don't eat ANYTHING in the morning. Once I eat I find my blood sugar starts to do the "dance", so it's much easier for me at least, if I don't eat anything until lunch time. I've always been like that though.

Thank you everyone. I may try the apple idea tomorrow and see if that helps. Really appreciate the feedback!

Mornings are hard for me too. I do eat just a sliced apple some mornings, but mostly, just try to ignore my stomach fussing. I drink water or peppermint tea and it helps. Also think positive, I try to imagine when my stomach is telling me I'm hungry, it is actually burning up all that fat. My daughter said a friend at school said about the hcg diet (his mom lost 80 pounds) he said trying to explain the diet to her. "Your body eats it's own fat." I like to imagine that and it helps me make it to lunch.

I think there's a typo in your original message, somewhere, I'm just not sure where.

You say you take your injection between 6:30-7 PM (in the evening), but you also say just after you get up. Did you actually mean AM? If not, I'd suggest switching to the morning for your injection. It seems to control my hunger better in the morning, when I really need it. By the time I go to bed it's starting to taper off a little.

Although today I completely forgot my injection and went to work without it. I didn't even notice until about 9:30 and I started feeling a little hungry way before I usually do. I took an early lunch and came home to shoot up.

I try and wait till about 10am and then i cut up my apple in small pieces and eat them slowly, takes me about half hour to eat it. I have found i haven't been hungry until lunch time but come 12.30 I'm down stairs cooking my dinner.

    Nats :)
